If I apply for GSCM notes today.. the information I get after 30 days, is it as or today or as of the day we get reply ?

This what they do when they get ur request

On Day 1: They receive your request for the CAIPS/GCMS file, the payment and consent form(s)
On Day 2: They submit your request to the processing office in Ottawa, Canada
On Day 4 or 6: The Citizenship and Immigration office in Ottawa receives your request and begins processing
On Day 25 or 34: The Citizenship and Immigration office completes the processing and forwards them your file
On Day 27 or 37: They receive the CAIPS/GCMS file and notify you

Hey guys!

I have an issue!
I contacted my lawyer today, and he said it's ok to apply for gcms notes, as he is representing me, he would request them on my beahlf. He would also send a letter of acknowledgement stating why we are requesting for those notes; without this letter, if I request gcms notes, it will slow down the processing of my case. I do not want that to happen. So, the cost for gcms notes will be $500. That's way too much.
I heard the same thing from someone else.
Should I go ahead and apply on my own or not. Correct me if I'm wrong, I read on this forum that the cost is only $5 not $500. I don't want the processing of my case to slow down. Arjun also mentioned the same thing about gcms.
Even on the website it states the processing times. and if we don't hear anything, that's when we should be contacting NDVO.
What to do ????????????????

HUH???? $500 for GCSMs...man I should become a lawyer..it won't slow down anything if you order electronic version. The other option is wait for 1 year and then wonder why you haven't heard anything from NDVO. Couple of posts earlier, someone had answered this issue of whether ordering will slow down the process..check that for a better explanation

I am convinced that these "lawyers" who are advising against GCMS ( and wrong cost ) went to the same school where the only requirement was probably to show up, with a fee
My friend and rest, these GCMS notes come from Ottawa by logging to GCMS system - it doesnt slow anything down and it cost only $5
The processing time can be 50 days due to strike ( I order 2 every month and had it exactly on the 30th day ) , but it can be upto 50 days
NDVO won't reply unless its past processing time of 10 months, either wait or order GMCS

I honestly I think your Lawyer want to make money from you. Please go to CIC website, they have no explanation saying the GCMS notes will slow down the process. If they do every single sponsor can approach lawsuit. I can't think of any reasons to apply, in-fact some of the MP's are doing the same thing. Every canadian citizen have the right to pull the informations that the government hold. They cannot slow any process, in-fact your case worker has no reasons to hold.
