They can but sometimes they don't ask for it, but it's better to wait as in any case they ask you can get PCC from passport office in one day.

Hi Thank You So Much for your information. I appreciate that but, remember Canada Post Rotation Strike and it's coverage on all the media? I think this Govt. really just don't care about this strike.

First time, I read about this strike in newspaper yesterday. It was from colleges and universities here in Vancouver. Many international students could not join because of visa delays and asking for money refund from colleges and universities. It was written that management of educational institutes want this strike to end as soon as possible and they are talking to government also about this.

Just applied for the GCMS notes, hopefully some new information will become available after that.
I am just surprised our PPR request hasnt come through for that long. Nor have they requested any additional documentation.

Thanks for the suggestion about the process yesterday can_4visa.

Does the PPR only come through via email ? Or do they send a letter to your address as well?

Haven't you got your passport yet, in this type of case on should go for PCC issued from passport office otherwise you need to get PCC from all the places where you have stayed after 18 years of age.

I work for the municipality in my city as a communications officer, and just yesterday we got the first inquiry from the media about the affect of the strike on international students at our city's University. I was like dude, where have you been? This has been going on for almost 2 months!

The gov't doesn't care, because the Canadian Citizens do not care. No one here really knows about the strike. And it affects international people more, and international people can't vote.
it's really terrible how the gov't thinks. NO WAY IN HELL am I voting PC. Well I never did before, but I certainly won't be starting. They do not have my interests in mind. And right now my interest is my husband and children!

Yaaayyyyyy!! I got my pp with VISA todayyyy.....:) :)

Who told you that with a canadian passport you can only stay upto 6months ? A canadian citizen can stay for however long they want...dont advice people with wrong info please. I am a Canadian Citizen and got married in feb and been here with him since then...

First of all, I think you don't need to be rude! Secondly, you didn't mention anything about PIO or OCI, which allows longer stays in India. I too have a Canadian passport for last 7 years, and when I go to India, I only get a tourist visa, which is a single entry visa into the country for no more than 6 months! Thirdly, you check with indian embassy in Canada, depending where you live. The website is vfs global, it provides a number also, which you can call and find out.

Thanks
