We got the passport too! November 2012 applicant here.

Wife got a call on monday asking if she can travel before expiry of medical. She said yes. Another call 2 hours after that asking her to come collect her passport on tuesday - yesterday.

Passport collection time is 3PM at NDVO office usually. We were there at 3PM. Not many people around. Only Indian staff within office... atleast they were the only that my wife could see. The concerned official was nice to deal with, and handed over visa, landing papers, all of our photos and marriage cards sent with the initial application. Total time spent within the office - about 15 min.

They did cancel her existing multiple entry TRV though. Said you cant have a PR and a TRV of the same country at the same time.

Hope you found this useful.

Regards,
Rajat

Congrats.... I just want to know one thing. I got my Student visa (not received passport yet, but a decision made letter came). Traveling to Canada Next week. So do I need to send my passport again to ND office or my entire documents will be transferred to Canada.

As you said TRV is cancelled, Will they remove my Student visa after approving PR.?

Will try to answer your questions to the best of my knowledge:
1) Yes you will probably get another passport request from NDVO
2) Usually your visa office will not change once your file is transferred...Hence your PR will still be processed at NDVO- (I think this is mentioned in passport request letter too)
3) You will not need a student visa once you are a PR...hence any other temporary visas are automatically invalid.
Hope this helps. Good luck

Some news...

PSLRB decision could take 3-4 wks: PAFSO spokesperson. Possibly faster for "economic reasons." Bad news for those affected by #dipstrike

This is sadly not the news we were hoping for. This could take us to September before the PSLRB rules and by that time Parliament will be back in session. Geesh!
Let's hope it takes less than 3-4 weeks!
