Because that's the leverage they have against Tony Clement and this idiotic government, this is how PAFSO can hurt all of us including the government by not issuing visas but still wear the shroud that "We are working Minister, look at the new Passport requests, file transfers and applications that we received in our visa offices"

This is basically scumbag tactics to get the other party to give up, both sides are playing hardball.... and understandably so everyone bargains for money, nobody cares about immigrant lives.

It's very simple, the majority of immigrants are non-white, if immigration to Canada was predominantly from European countries, this issue would have been resolved a long time ago.

Spot on!! Exactly my thoughts...

"It's very simple, the majority of immigrants are non-white, if immigration to Canada was predominantly from European countries, this issue would have been resolved a long time ago."

Couldnt have put it better. This is the harsh truth....if this was affecting majority of Europeans...Harper would have been on PAFSO's A** !!

No one knows exactly for sure what is priority or not...but we all know that they are working and people in the other forums receiving their updates.

Well by priority I meant they are processed faster than other Permanent residency applications...and this is not an assumption. Spousal Applications at New delhi are processed fastest compared to other categories-PNP, FSW etc you can check the processing times at cic.gc.ca

Yes as per last year sheet most of the Feb,Mar applicants got their Visa in Aug n Sept. But this strike has delayed everything. Hope for the best.....

According to their own wordings "Canada has a carefully managed and controlled immigration program that is committed to
maintaining a balance of 60% economic immigrants and 40% non-economic immigrants (family
class, refugees, and those in need of protection). Amongst non-economic immigrants, priority is
given to spouses/partners and dependent children."

Clearly shows that priority is given to spouse/partners and dependent children among all other categories.

so it is NOT an assumption!!
