http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/for-those-affected-by-the-strike-a-cbc-reporter-wants-to-hear-from-us-t158151.0.html

Check thisout- I just added this. A reporter wants to hear from us, our personal stories. I urge people to write to her. The more stories she has the better the impact.

Thanks. We all need to do out due diligence...so ppl please do whatever you can.

Guys please tell for which course you ppl applied student visa.

I applied for PhD. My lawyer in canada says, problem is for some college courses. not for MS and PhD.. Some ppl used to get admission in some colleges (Not universities) for some BA or diploma courses. those cases are rejecting .. PHD, MS applications wont have problem....

My frds dad is a reporter he is publishing a story on this in the punjabi new paper, He asked if we could all send email to the Indian shows that air every saturday night in canada, they are viewed by everyone... here is the list of email address ..

Gunda Punjab - bassi@bbctoronto.com
Des Pardes - bsatwal@musicwaves.ca
Sanjha Punjab - info@sanjhapunjab.com

OMNI news - Bhupinder.Hundal@rci.rogers.com

the more they hear, the more it gets out the better it is ...
Thanks in advance

The Universities are suffering the most from this impact fiscally speaking.
I hoped that it would be resolved by now, but this clearly means that no student visas are going to be issued prior to the Fall (Sept.) session start. Which means loss of millions of dollars, which is shameful.

I don't know which side to be with - seems like Clement is playing hardball and has a mandate to not move from his position and not shell out a single increase in wages in the upcoming months.

Similarly, PAFSO are asking to get compensated for work that WE - the regular citizens cannot determine if it really needs to be on the same pay grade level as officers working within Canada.

My personal opinion, is I think not because everybody wants to hire cheap labour overseas, which is the same concept being applied here. Canada has contracted overseas officers and has employed them according to pay grades for each country and has statistically brought them onto a level considering all socio-economic factors that make a pay range.

Anyways, I am real fed up that there is no resolution reached as of yet. I have a bad feeling about this because 2012 applications just by reading the forums are taking 9 months from date of application to date of visa issued. This is very saddening.

Whoever was in 2013 who applied in January and got their visas are very lucky - enjoy your life... but the rest of us will have to suffer for the long haul it seems like, as those applications took 9/10 months. We are already delayed by the strike and most likely will cross the 10 month mark.

I know there is a lot of positivism in this forum but I am being a realist here, this is very depressing - it is starting to affect us all temperamentally. Very hard to focus in life (school/work/career/family/friends).
totally agree with you primoo .... it is really hard to focus in life.. sadest thing is only the people impacted due to this strike are aware of this... there is no sound about this strike in public... Ram Jaane kab ee strike kahtham hoga....

Yes Zormas, thank you. Siting here complaining about this will not do anything. Anything you can do will help. We are ALL in the same boat here. We are waiting for loved one...

Got off the phone with a CIC call center agent...he confirmed Family class visas are still being processed but ofcourse at a minimum level...

PAFSO President Tim Edwards says rotating targeted strikes more effective than general union-wide strike. #cdnpoli #dipstrike

Whatever that suppose to mean....
