hey guys what do you think about this

Hello Laura,

I am one of the 100’s who are effected by the strike PAFSO is having now. I have applied for my wife as a spouse category in Jan 2013 and till now I have no update from NDVO (New Delhi Visa Office). They do however request my wife’s passport earlier in March 2013 like all the other people have been requested as well. My wife checks her ECAS website everyday for updates and to our disappointment we have no update given by the office for the visa. We have been for 7 months now for our visa and it looks like we are not gaining anything that will help us in our relationship. Many people like me are having the same impact on there visa as nothing is being done.

Some of my questions to the Canadian immigration minister and the Prime minister is when we sponsored our spouse in advanced and paid the full amount of fees like ALL the people who are sponsoring there spouse.

1. Why do we have to be in the waiting list for so long?
2. Why do we have to we have to take the heat of the strike?
3. What is that is missing from our spouse file that we are not able to get the visa?
4. What should we do to get the visa?
5. Are we going to get any compensation for being neglected by the visa office just because we are in the Family category?
6. When is the strike going to end and when do we expect the visas to be available?
7. When will the backlogs going to be cleared?
8. Why are visitors, tourist and international students getting there visa’s but not family class spouse visa?

When I think about Canada being a multinational free country I believe in it but, when we get in this situation when everybody in the Canada gets there visa where it belongs to any category except for family class spouses what are we can do. We as Canadian’s cannot initiate a simple talk to even end the strike which is affecting everybody. Furthermore, we family class sponsors and spouse are told not to contact any office regardless of any emergency we have. We have our family waiting for us and we cannot do anything in our power to even tell them we are sorry.

All the time we are just waiting for the day when we our spouse are going to get the visa and we are united with our love ones makes us so frustrated and depressed that we end up something stupid in our life that effects the whole world. The fact that we are having so many tornados and bad weather in Canada is not something to be ignored off because this is not coming from Mother Nature but coming from our heart. The prayers that we do no matter what culture comes from our heart and there is some one who is listening to it, that some one has promised that the prayers will be answered an when some ones heart is broken or feelings get shattered then the outcome is what we see as destruction and act of GOD. We humbly request to both PAFSO and the Government to come up with a solution to end the strike and get the backlog cleared of the visas. Please think about it as if where you who is having this difficult time and what will you think about it.

Canada diplomat strike disrupts visa operations

Agence France-Presse
Posted at 07/30/2013 1:28 AM | Updated as of 07/30/2013 1:28 AM
MONTREAL - Striking foreign service officers disrupted visa operations at Canadian embassies and consulates in cities around the world Monday after contract negotiations with the government broke down, their association said.

The foreign service officers have been on strike for four months, but this was the most extensive disruption yet of visa services.

The action involves Canada's biggest visa processing centers at 15 embassies and consulates around the world.

They include centers in Paris, London, Moscow, Mexico City, Cairo, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Ankara, Beijing, Delhi, Chandigarh, India, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Manila and Sao Paulo.

The Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers, which represents the strikers, said it decided on the action after government negotiators rejected binding arbitration.

It said the move was "to persuade the government that binding arbitration remains the responsible way forward to resolve our dispute."

The agents are seeking salary parity with other federal government employees.

"We take no pleasure whatsoever in these strike actions and their real, severe, and mounting effects on the Canadian economy," the association, which represents 16,000 active and retired foreign service officers, said.

Hi Laura,

I saw on CanadaVisa forum that you are interested in getting stories from people affected from PAFSO strike in family class.

I am one of the people suffering from this strike. I am a Canadian Citizen and recently got married in INDIA. Being a Canadian Citizen its really very sad to say that Canadian Government is making their own citizen's suffer. This strike has been going for almost 4 months now and 2 months since PAFSO have withdrawn their services but sadly, Canadian Government showed no interest in solving this matter or negotiating with them. Both parties are only looking at what's right for them. It seems like both PAFSO and the government are being selfish. I have not seen one article or even heard a word about what people are going through and have to deal with on a daily basis who are sponsoring their spouse(s).

I have been in India with my husband for 5months now. We were both looking forward to getting the visa by september so that we could both start college/university, start working and start our lives. But thanks to this strike we will sitting at home for another year now to begin our careers. It breaks my heart when I think about leaving him here and going back to Canada alone and living there without him for god know's how long. I dont understand what they are getting out of keeping people apart for so long. I don't really have anything else to write. Its just not my story, it is everyone's story around the world that are eagerly and impatiently waiting to start their lives.

I would really like know from both PAFSO and the Government of Canada -:

-What is it that we did wrong to go through this?
-Where are we suppose to go for justice?
-We have done all formalities, payments, paper work required to sponsor, get the process started and get the visa.
-Why are we still in the waiting list?
-Why are our lives and our relationship's put on stake?
-Why are they only focusing on students and visitors?
-There's already a huge timeline to get the visa's and now with backlogs how are they going to clear them in the time given?
-They have our passports and now they shut down the visa offices completely. Where do we go or what do we do if there's an emergency and we need our passport? Who do we contact?

This is not just about PAFSO and their fight with the government ANYMORE. Its about thousand's of people across the world waiting to be with their loved one's. I would really like to request PAFSO and the government on the behalf of thousand's of sponsor's, applicants waiting for their visas to please end this strike. We should be given priority as well not just students or visitors because they are the source of income to Canada. It shouldn't be just a business game. These people are holding our destinies, our lives in their hands and we are just VICTIMS.

WE NEED JUSTICE AND WE NEED ANSWERS !!

I dont know why Canada Government is not taking decision to increase wages. As they are already loosing business which is badly affecting Canada Economy. If this will be continued then Tony Clement will responsible for whole loss and at the end they will fire him from his designation as Treasury Board minister. Are they dumb or stupid they cant see they are already in loosing money... rather loosing in this way they should increase wages of those people. You know guys whan people raise their voice for their rights Government always create the scene to be highlighted in Media and all over world .

Who is right ??? We dont know but the thing is this we are getting affected with their laziness. I hate his tweets where he say My staff applauded on my guitar playing. You enjoy ur guitar and we are pissed off
