Hey Friends.... After a long wait of 10 months, alot of irritation and frustration finally i got DM on Ecas. I got a call from VO on 21st asking if i am able to fly canada before 31st Jul 2013 as my medical will expire on 31st next month.

Sharing with you guys here so you know files are being processed. Wishing for Gupta 417 , mannatdel, mom_girl to get a good news too. Below is my timeline... Wish you all the very very best.

M so frustrated and irritated from NDVO.........they taking too long to send passport back with visa.....they should hire more people and give everyone's passports back faster.....everyday i think today is my day and my status will get change from "appliation Received" to DM......but nothing is happing. . I check my ecas 10 times a day...i miss my breakfast in the morning as i go to the work early but i do check ecas each and every morning... .......it sucks when u see nothing is changed . its 3 months now and they have not sent my passport back....

hey magesss need not to go for re-medical. If medical will be the only requirement to approve your visa NDVO will approve your visa before medical will get expire. In my case my medical was expiring on 31st jul 2013 and i got a call from ND that they are about to finalize my case but they are afraid if i can land in Canada before my medical expiration date which i assure them that i will be there before 31st and after 2 days my ecas changed to DM

mannatdel.. don worry too much on ecas... sometimes they dont even update the details. when i did my process...it never changed from Application Received and changed to complete after 1 month of me becoming PR. But yeah you should be able to access with your file number.. i was able to do my wife's.. give it a try may be next monday.. they generally update ecas weekends..

You have to check with application number

Whose UCI number do you guys check....
I checked with mine( Sponsor) it works but with my wifes nothing comes up....

Have you applied thru representative??? And keep checking your spam folder it might have gone there...

ppl from may have got ppr wwe are april applicants...still waiting I don't know how these ppl work...once they have the passport its another 3+ month wait...

Guys.....a thought nagging my head...need advice

I got married in feb and wanted to change my name to my husbands, but we thought it would delay us in sending in our application, so i dint change it in my passport then. All the documents i have till date are in my maiden name and i havent officially changed my name in my country either.

Do you think it would be wise to apply for a change in passport now and then update cic?

If i do this, will it affect my application in anyway and will i have to get my pcc on the new passport.

OR

If i get through the process with my maiden name...how can i change my name in canada...as in... on my passport, PR card and stuff?
My passport is up for renewal in 2015 so innitialy thought we'd make the change then but then also wondering if it will be more of a hassel to change it later in canada.
Any suggestions? Has anyone been thru either situation?

You shud have changed your passport straight after marriage anyway let it be now if u want to apply for new passport give it now as in tatkal it takes 15 days and normally it takes 40 days so by the time u will take ur PPR u have ur latest passport with you as in PPR they will ask for all your passports... Hope it helps... Other senior members can also help by advising see what you can do...

dose it make any different for getting ppr if we apply thru representative ?
