Sure check out the info given below. Hope this helps and answers your question.

Security & Criminality Checks:
A part of the b/ground checks is the 'Security Check'. It commences after our med results are submitted to the CHC. This is a major activity -mainly concerning our 'safe inclusion' into the Canadian Soil; vis-a-vis, Political, Socio-Econmical, Anti-Social disposition, perceived Threat to Canada's integrity etc. This gets us the SDEC, CDEC & SECCRIM.

This is a serious & time-consuming stage, involving many agencies, including CSIS, Interpol, NASC, Database Checking & touch-base with Local Police. Many things are considered here... the No. of countries visited, Applicant coming from 'certain' countries, ex-Servicemen [including Law Enforcement services], Prolonged stay in a country w/out sufficient docs to prove cause, frequent traveling to certain nations, your *Name (?), Inter-Religion/Nationality Marriages etc.

If everything is simple & straight, the file soon gets into the 'final review' stage. If there are any 'red flags', our case goes into a 'spin'. Then our file might go to the local Police/CID agencies; the outcome/timeframe of which is beyond the control of CIC. And thereby the timeframe can be anything [sometimes beyond 1yr]. But, usually this stage should be over by 5 months max. However, a point to be noted is that we can also be called for an Interview [at this stage], due to this reason.

-Culmination: Only upon security clearance we receive the PPR.
-Timeframe: Around 2-6 months. Avg. 3 months. [With new system, sometimes PPR is clubbed with Meds]
-eCAS: Still 'In Process', but 'Med Results Recd.' inside.

Good luck with your application.

Regards,
mum_girl

Thanks mum_girl

These topics are sometime confusing ....as it says at the end that only after security clearance you get PPR??

I got my SA on 17th april and m still waiting for PPR and I have a feeling that my wife may end up waitingfor little longer for PPR aswell. But I will strongly suggest all of you guys to order GCMS notes as I have already ordered one. It takes 30 days and it doesnt effect ur processing atall and instead of sending NDVO email which is not at all helpfull, go for GCMS notes so that u have a clear picture in ur mind to whats gng with ur file.
I remember my own immigration was on process and I had done this mistake of ordering the notes at a very last stage i had realised that mistake that I did because it is so helpful and tells u exactly whats gng on with ur file.

just a sugestion :0

hope that helps !!!

Thanks a lot for the help sanju1986. You've convinced me. :-)

can anyone tell what is gcms notes ,,,,nd can anyone send the link of gcms notes site 8)

Heartiest congratulations !!!

Thanks mum_girl! :)
Looks like you are a Jan 2013 applicant as well. If I am correct to assume that the CHC folks are processing Jan 2013 applicants now, then I hope that your turn for good news is coming SOON! ;D

Hi DVA,
I don't think you should get worried about your hubby (sponsor) being here with you. In fact, I think it works to your advantage as you both are staying together. Should the CIC folks have any queries prior to SA, I am sure they would contact your hubby via phone or email. So sit back and relax and I hope your SA comes through soon. :)

Hope this helps!

Cheers,

If he is a PR then he cant stay out of country during the whole process, he can make short trips of 2 to 3 weeks but not long ones.

Well he is a PR and returning max by june 1st week...thing is application was recieved on 6th May and we'd be due for AOR n SA by the time hes back.

I guess nothing can be done now but pray...hard....that all goes well! :/

Hello everyone my file got transferred to New Delhi on 24th April still no PPR? So worried I do not have travel history .is this the reason for not getting PPR ?

You dont have to worry....It is just the matter of waiting
I think NDVO is sometimes random. Many people before me have received PPR but I received late
So I suggest you to wait for 1-2 weeks. I am hoping that if your file was transferred on April 17, you should get PPR this week or may be next week

Hi James,

We sent our app on March 22nd to CIC-M and my husband got SA on 16th April but I still haven't received any PPR from NDVO... should I be worried?

Everyone seems to have got their PPR within a month of getting SA... I'm starting to get stressed...

Hello sunshine

We both have a same timeline and even I am waiting for PPR. I am worried to as most of the people got with in 10 - 20 days of SA . Lets hope we get ours soon as well !!

Given that the PP is such a sensitive document, I can't wait for it to get back into my hands. Am not too comfortable when it has to travel through the postal/courier system! :o
By any chance, do you and anybody know which courier the CHC uses to send back the PP?

Cheers,
LunarNymph

They will send via registered Indian post.
