Hi,

In my case the medical was not required as i was staying in Dubai for past 1 year before applying.
Yes we had to take a LMO before applying for visas. In my case we have taken a named LMO which came out positive & later applied for visas.
Last but not least mine is not a Intra Company Transfer.

Thanks,

Rajesh

if its with LMO then anywhere between 3-4 weeks they should process.. few years back i got mine from New delhi with LMO within 2 weeks...since you have two more applications...they might take some time. as you said LMO intra company transfer is ruled which i could understand...but members in this thread are under permanent resident for family class...so i would recommend looking into some thread for temporary workers..try doing a case specific inquiry to new delhi

Hi all,

Didn't add myself to this thread yet but I've been watching it closely. I'm in Canada sponsoring my wife from New Delhi. Here are my timelines:

Visa Office- New Delhi
Medicals Done: 12-Jan-2013
Application Sent: 25-Feb-2013
Date CPC-M received application: 26-Feb-2013
Sponsorship Approval: 26-Mar-2013
Passport Requested: 18-Apr-2013

Took just 20 days from SA to the PPR from NDVO, which is great! But I've heard varying stories from members on whether receiving PPR means they've started working on the file to they have already made their decision. Also some members have said it's just a matter of weeks to others saying the VO is really slow and it's now taking 3-4 months to process files after Passport request.

Can someone shed light on the process after you get the PPR?

PS. Please add me to the file.

welcome ankb2308... well as far as NDVO concerned..its still not clear how they go with PPR and processing...for some cases they ask for Passport very early in the process...PPR doesn't mean processing is completed... there are some assumptions in thread... if the applicant has travel history then PPR comes early....on the contrary i have seen cases without travel history also getting PPR early in the process and vice versa... for now i would advise you to wait for few more weeks and if required apply for GCMS notes (on behalf of your wife...you apply from canada paying 5$) this is information/privacy act they wil send you a detail information on whats happening in your file what more checks are pending etc.. but i would advise you to wait for one month at least after your PPR for this step...

Thanks for the advice prasamp. With regards to travel history, my wife doesn't have any. She had a brand new passport made in January with family name change and added my name as the spouse.

Hey sometimes if you dnt provide enuf proofs they take time in background details that might take time as well i suggest u to wait for few weeks too...

Hey there ! I'm wondering if someone can elaborate on the GCMS topic? What does it stand for and what is it exactly? If its an extraction of information: would it delay our application to request the info?

the below information gives details on the same...

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-personal.asp

form to apply for the notes...
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/form-imm5563.asp

GCMS - Global Case management system - the system CIC uses for processing our applications..

this goes with two requests... if you applying on your behalf and if your inside canada its free as per privacy act...if not inside canada then yeah you have you pay for the service.

as coming to the point of processing getting delayed due to this process is not true always..

when we apply for our PR we tend to get two references...one is electronic acknowledgement and UCI and other being the actual paper file something starts with an alphabet BXXXX etc...
when you apply for GCMS you wil be asked to select which file you want to look in... if you say electronic file...the ATIP agent will look into the system and generates a pdf document which contains all incoming and outgoing communication on our file. like application received date- and first acknowledgement date etc... status of each step criminality, security, background, medicals etc..

on the contrary if you select physical file then yes this will delay the process because the file has to be taken out and verified for all states and then detailed report comes to us which might delay processing...if i am not wrong...the main intention of looking into physical files is required when we have issues with our medical records or few document proofs etc.. so if you refrain from selecting Physical file from the above mentioned application fom...there will be no delay..during my PR process i had applied 2ce for the GCMS notes and never it appeared to have interefered in my process..

Also there is a strong feeling among everyone of us that GCMS request goes to CIC...but actually it goes to Access to Information and Privacy department which is independent of CIC.. they are two different entities under fed govt. so requesting information on our file is your right if inside canada (so free) if not u pay 5$ for the service. it takes anywhere from 3-4 weeks to get the report geenrated and sent to you...

PS: not always GCMS tells the exact details on our process...i am saying it from my personal experience.. my first GCMS notes stated no process been started (criminality, security, background) but the process was underway...during my second notes as well there is no change but after 2weeks of my second notes i got my PPR for visa stamping...so not alwyas this gives us updated information...for which only CIC knows why its like that...
