I hope what you are saying is not true... but there are a lot of spousal cases in 2012 which were not processed last year... could this have been the reason? I really hope not!

Is it true that there is a quota that CIC has to meet by October 2013? Then once they meet the quota of how many people got sponsored they take a break and start again in January? Someone told me this information. Do let me know.

I wish I knew! Someone who sponsored his wife in 2012 told me this information. He applied in May 2012, CIC requested his wife's passport in Sept 2012 and she didn't get it back with a temp PR until Jan 2013. When he asked why such a delay, this is the information that was given to him by his lawyer.

Hello Every one,
I am August applicant and following this forum for quite a bit for time..
Just to bring your attention that after being held for almost 5 months (Still the strike is on ), today is the first time Canadian free local news paper Metro published an article on VISA Strike and it's adverse effect. It seems the PR applicants are the most affected, it is dropped by almost 5000 applications compare to last year at the same period of time, which is almost 10%.

Keep the positive vibes , hope Ottawa will take some action and they start work in faster pace.

Yeah.. true... thats what even I felt when I saw that newspaper this morning... every day my eyes searches for an article on this strike and finally they published this article today... happy to see this article on the main page today... hope atleast now government will take this issue more seriously and resolve this ASAP...

But if this person applied in May 2012 and wife got the passport back with the visa in Jan 2013 then it is within the case processing timeline right of 8 months or so? So maybe the information that NDVO takes a break in Oct for spousal applications is not completely true. (fingers crossed)

Hi, I submitted around 250 Pics, lots of communication proofs like chats, emails log, phone call logs, video call logs..

I know and god knows from where MSing2013's friend get this insider information.

I am sure they have set targets for different type of VISA applications but i am pretty sure they never make up to those targets (just like any other office work). Look at the backlog they have accumulated for years.

Lets not waste our time talking about this and worry ourselves for no reason.

It is within the time. But it would be sad if there is a 3 month increased delay if they took a break between October and January. In TO star's article, it is also clearly written that CIC changes the focus of issuing PRs during the summer months and focus more on visitor and student visas.
