I am not too hopeful about the whole "Back to work" legislation in October idea either. This was in the article I posted earlier:

Yet, while the Harper government has shown in the past that it is not averse to passing back-to-work legislation, if it were going to pass such legislation it would have already done so, said Mr. Smith.

“Why would they have allowed all the time to pass and all the inconvenience that seems to be growing as these workers extend their strike?” he said.

It isn't something they would do frivolously, said Mr. Smith.

He said if the government were to enact back-to-work legislation, it would make for an unusual situation.

Hi fellow WAiting Canadians,

Just thought of sharing this with everyone. Ok so I was personally at the NDVO today as I wanted to give a explanation to sone visa office r who would hear me out as I wanted to request them to speed my process up as my wife is expecting a baby and is facing a lot of problems without me. So the security gaurd hands me a request form which I had to fill out and give him back , which she would forward to some guy sitting behind the window. 5 mins later he comes back and says that my file is "in que " and I was just supposed to wait. He cited the reason saying that as There is only one Visa Issuing officer in place where there were 10 before the strik so the work seems to be going a less than a snails pace. Now is took place on the 21 August 2013 @ 10-15 AM.

I know that everyone knows for a fact that the strike is going on , But just wanted to post this that I have personaaly felt the effect . Had travelled all the way from Hyderabad to do this...and All I got was 3 mins worth of conversation with the security ....

Dont mean to dissapoint anybody but this is the ground reality we facing right now....Hope something good comes out of the godddamn arbitration , else like all things WAITING IS GONNAN BE LONGER.................

I went to my MP office yesterday and gave them authorization forms to check the status of our application. MP office called me back today as they have already got reply from NDVO.

As per NDVO reply, file is not yet reviewed. File has been assigned to an officer. Normal processing time is 11 months. If applicant doesn't hear anything till November or December, they can contact NDVO directly or can make another enquiry thorugh MP. If applicant needs a passport to travel , he/she must send us a written request along with proof ( air ticket ) to request passport back.

I am not expecting this strike to be over very soon which will cause further and further delays.

My MP got the same response from NDVO too...I guess they have a standard response for inquiries...

i,read one of ur previous posts - ur mp told u that ndvo sent an email to ur lawyer but lawyer never rcvd any. In that case u shud apply for gcms notes (if in,case u havnt applied yet) -- its only way to find what that email,was about. Good luck
