we are in same boat. My hubby's passport was also requested on July 19 2013. Looks like 19 is luck for you. According to chinese "9" is very lucky. It's my b'day next week on 19, hoping to hear some good news about my file.

my file was transfered to India on Feb 19 and in the GCMS notes I normally see updates on 19th of the month.. so I am expecting some update on 19th of this month too... fingers crossed... thats the reason I am thinking of applying for GCMS after 19th.

I think it's been the best week in terms of getting positive news than we have had since June. I think it will only start getting better from now on

Your Bring Forward date is 19th day of month.

FYI, Bring Forward date refers to an internal CIC process whereby a file is taken out of the processing queue for review regardless of its degree of completion at the time and is not a timeline guaranty. Do more research on ND 2012 thread.

My local MP told me that NDVO had sent an email to my lawyer in July. But my lawyer says she did not receive any email from NDVO in July (she checked spam folder too). Local MP does not know what the email was about. Two questions 1. Can my MP get more details such as what that email was about (I am waiting for my passport request) without ordering GCMS (which takes a month to get it)? 2. If I find out it was a request for passport and I request a GCMS, will this cause more delays in getting visa approved?

My timeline : Received application on May 21, 2013; NDVO received application on June 19, 2013; ecas says 'application received and medicals received'; no passport request so far.

Thanks for the expert opionions and comforting each other with the delays etc...I gain more knowledge just reading the inputs from the everyone than my lawyer who suggested that I should wait for 11 months before ordering GCMS..yeah, right!

Just confirmed with my lawyer today, he said you can go to india, however if you go to india with your child they can question the child, spouse and yourself, which may work for some, but at the same time can make things complicated as too much questioning is done. He said that, he has seen cases where things have got messed up, and have made the situation worse, and delays in processing such cases. Again, it's a personal choice. It may work for someone on the other hand it may not. Hope that it works for all, who doesn't want to be with loved ones.

if that's the case order GCMS notes rt away it will take a month to come and u will know if your passport was requested...not 100% sure if notes delay the process coz I have mixed reviews from ppl who have already got the visa's some say don't order and some say order it doesn't delay the process......I guess its just luck....many have missed their ppr and with GCMS they realised that NDVO did req for the pp......

I dont see a reason why GCMS would delay anything.. The process takes place in Canada and is independent of NDVO workings

don't know abt that but if u see 2012 forum ppl have advised not to go for GCMS after they got their visa coz it delays the application....again its personal choice u agree or u don't agree to it...
