Don't worry, Anisha! Being realistic that your application was submitted in April and people who have submitted in Jan just starting to get visa just past few days, you can't expect to see advances in your gcms. I think you might see more activities in your gcms in coming months.

It's certainly good that people are starting to get visas. It means they are working! And our cases will be considered soon!

That is exactly what my lawyer said, She said once there back to work the blacklog will be cleared up within a month.

I'm really confused as to how come you have not received visa yet. Have you contacted an MP? IS your case straightforward?

Parents case, unlike many cases went to CPP-O, some went to the hell of New Delhi - and I am suffering, can't express in words the deep hatred I have, for this unprofessional, biased, unfair, 3rd class immigration system but have to bow down now.

I'm also in the same situation and my husband's passport was requested in july 2013. I applied in may 2013. How can I check my e-cas, when I fill in all the info, it tells me that I have not been recognized, as a client, before I checked abot a month ago and it was showing that file was received on May 21 2013, and then on June 11 2013, I was approved as a sponsor and my file would be sent to NDVO for further processing ! It's so frustrating. Can you give me any tips?

Feel your pain buddy. Parents cases do take super long.
My parents file took about 4.5 years.. when it was applied in 2001.. when the rules were relatively softer.
Keep the faith.

I checked it about a week or 2 ago. It has always been application received, so because of the strike I only check e-cas like once every few weeks.
It says they started working on his file on August 7th. I just hope that it's a quick DM! And not months like some others.

If I can have my hubby here with me by end of September it would make my kids so happy. Both birthdays of our kids in September.

Quite happy right now. We were married in India and lived together for almost 4 years before I moved to Canada and we have two beautiful kids. I hope this makes our case straight forward, because we have a religion difference and culture difference. LOL

Ihink some1 gave u the wrong info.....usually it is said when ur spouse schdeuled for an interview u shud be there with them and at that point u shud not be landed in India more than two weeks before the interview date....and if u have kid n he/ she attended ur wedding then it is a must to take them with u to interview...I know some people who did this ...and for them officer didn't ask any question from the couple...but did ask the kids...again its not the law....but this has worked for many who had real cases........

Just confirmed with my lawyer today, he said you can go to india, however if you go to india with your child they can question the child, spouse and yourself, which may work for some, but at the same time can make things complicated as too much questioning is done. He said that, he has seen cases where things have got messed up, and have made the situation worse, and delays in processing such cases. Again, it's a personal choice. It may work for someone on the other hand it may not. Hope that it works for all, who doesn't want to be with loved ones.
