Hi friends. I have something to share.

I applied for student visa last month. on 6th I received a request from NDVO for submission of passport. But I already submitted my passport for PR application. that was mentioned in my application. I mailed them three times stating ''My passport is thr with embassy which i send for PR application''. But thr is no reply since last 7 days. I am only getting read receipt of my mail from embassy. thats it. nothing more..

I dont know whats happening with embassy. I am not sure, the officers in different dept could access my passport because of different application kept with different officers. one guys in this group may be taking part in strike or not. I am totally screwed....

Hi friends,

Where did you submit passport when embassy requested.?

through VFS office ? or following address..

Immigration Section / Section de l’immigration
High Commission of Canada / Haut-Commissariat du Canada
7/8 Shantipath, Chanakyapuri
New Delhi
India / Inde

I submitted through this address.

You do not submit through VFS. You submit directly to the embassy.

I think NDVO is opened, but might only have admin staff there, so PR's that have already been decided and they are calling to get them off their desk. Same as PPR's, it only takes an admin person to contact people and request passports.
We all know there hasn't been much going on since June, we have seen how few COPR's have been issued. Maybe 4 since June. So realistically we all know that New Delhi isn't processing new cases. Probably just clearing the ones that were decided months back.

Things will be really quiet regarding the strike until next week, I don't think the gov't will end it before the hearing since they seem very confident they are right here. And PAFSO think they are right so they won't cancel it either.

Believe me, this really sucks. My husband's grandmother just passed away this morning in Hyderabad, and though I am glad he was there to be with his family, it sucks that we can't be together to mourn her passing.

Yeah. Totally agree with you. I think no one got any calls or DM's today. Couple of people missed calls from New Delhi last week. Have you guys received any calls or mails from them??

So submission through embassy address is fine?.. (Immigration Section -7/8 Shantipath, Chanakyapuri PO Box 5209 New Delhi 110021 India.)

I got a decision made on student visa letter from embassy.. But I dont know why they are taking so long to send my passport with my student visa since my passport is already there.

Is there any way to confirm my passport status at embassy. Is there any phone no that we can contact embassy. My wife is a Canadian citizen. So she can call. But I dont know through which number.

[ hi, i m not a may applicant but m jan 2013 applicant and m yet to hear from NDVO.
files on jan 3 at canada for sponsorship...apporved on feb 5 and sent to delhi...since then just waiting..incase if u can help]
[/quote]

This is awful..here I am thinking just about myself drowning in my self-pity only to see your post about waiting since Feb...did you order GCMS? other than that, maybe your local (Canadian) MP could inquire on your behalf to check the status of your file or you can send an email to NDVO (though I have been told that they don't respond if it is within processing time..wish the old corruption way works in New Delhi visa office -pay them or ask Indian politician (wearing all white gandhian clothes) to march in with his entourage and bribe/threaten visa guys

No, If you were rejected 3 times for student visa does not mean you will be rejected for the spouse visa. They are completely two different categories. There are many applicants rejected multiple times for Tourist or student visa and successfully obtained the spouse visa. Just make sure you attach enough documents to prove your relationship before sending them the file. If you do not know how to do do it. Please check the link below.
