From yours and other people postings it looks like they are working on PPR recived around end of the May. Most likely they received these applications along with student visa applications

Does anyone know how long it takes to receive Confirmation Letter since the decision made?

And how long it takes to get the passport back? It seems few days ago my status was updated

Why would they do that though as there are still many people from Jan 2013 and Feb 2013 who have not received PR's. I think every case worker has their own files and I do not think there is a transparent process here. It's so random, which is frustrating to keep track of.

I disagree. I think how appealing and easy your file is why people are getting their visas in 6 months and some are taking 12 months.

If your case is clear and open, they have all your documents - they don't want to stress themselves out in chasing down and doing some other research regarding both sponsor and applicant.

Also I think how the file is organized is another big thing, if it's neat and looks presentable then that speaks volumes to officer. It makes his job easier at the end of the day.

I agree also if at any time you get additional document request like:
Additional proof/documents, Birth certificate/marriage certificate etc

Remedical request/police certificates this delays your application for sure

I dont think we get call because our case is stright-forward case with sufficient supporting docs. No change in current status. But it is good to be prepared. One more info to u- Consulate Office is open again in new location now. We get our pp from the office, not from the courier. The office calls us to pick it up when they get from Delhi office

Don't rely on that. It is not updated regularly. One guy told me that his wife's status change to DM n LANDED 1 week after she landed in Canada

Strange but this is how CIC works.Every case is different so there is no trend to follow..
I have friends who were able to bring their spouses to Canada within 3 months..for some it took 5 months (which is still not bad!!)..
