JJ still trying to figure out why so much delay..majority of applicants whose status changes to 'DM' get their passports within a week to 10 days...so don't worry...

There are no chances of getting visitor visa because before appling for PR i also applied for visitor visa and within 3 days they rejected.
So its better not to waste time and money in visitor visa just apply for your PR

You applied as fiance or friend. We too did after our engagement as we were thinking only this as our red flag.

Folks.. its finally my OMG moment.

My wife received her passport today through VFS with COPR. Here is my timeline:

We received your application for permanent residence on September 6, 2013.
We started processing your application on June 16, 2014.
Medical results have been received.
A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision. (June 21 , 2014).

I became paranoid that something is wrong as it took almost 3 weeks after DM to get the passport back. The visa was issued on the 18th of June so there wasn't any good reason for delay. We had sent the passport through VFS and had paid for return postage. I guess NDVO was just trying to test our will, we just needed to be patient.

This forum was really important to keep track of your application process otherwise not knowing whats going on for this many months can drive you insane. Many thanks to everyone for their valuable information, and good luck to everyone waiting.

A million thanks to god!!! ... Finally my application has gone to DM today ... how long does it usually take to get bck the passport??

I have put my file for Canada spouse PR file in Feb 2014....medical has done and PCC has been submitted,..bt still did't get Passport request..

can u please tell me approximate time for my VISA.. VISA office is New DElhi

my case was straight forward, there was nothing like red flags only there was no honeymoon because my husband has to go after some days of marriage due to his job

NDVO I believe has changed the procedure for 2014 applicants..passport request comes at the end of the process not at the beginning as it used to be few months ago...your visa will be in the mail after a long time (if you are lucky by nov 2014).....

I am not sure, pooja...it was JJ who wrote first that immigration department has plans to process straight forward cases faster than complicated cases....so far I haven't seen visas issued on a large scale (there was a time eons ago when weekend comes there will 15 to 20 applicants approved but now it is trickling to 2 or 3) but I don't know if this plan of fast track processing has been geared into action or sitting at some minister's desk...

Pooja as per people getting Visa, your turn should be this week... becoz till 15th Oct people got IP or DM last week. this week should be your and near by dates. But I think they cleared back-log this week. I dont know when god's light fall on us.
