any idea guys how long for july applicants....i have heard that immigration guys have hired some people to clear the backlog, is it true?....also around when should i apply for gcms notes. thanx

if they had hired more workers to clear the backlogs then we should see some movements but all I see is an old car with starts (cranked up to start), sputters and stops...one day it is IP, DM and pp back then there is a deep sleep like a bear going into hibernation...for 'notes' it depends..did you get passport request? if not, apply for notes now..if yes, then apply in dec/jan..but if you want to help canadian economy and don't mind seeing 'nothing started' (most likely but NDVO is full of suprises) then go ahead and apply now

I think you should wait for atleast a month and once you see some July applicants getting an update, apply for GCMS notes. I had applied for notes almost at every stage of my application. For example after I sent the Passport - just to make sure they received my PP, then I kept applying periodically just to make sure there is progress in my file. So you can technically apply for notes to make sure all the doc's are in place and there is noting weired in your file.

It won't harm your file if you apply for notes. It just costs $5 and really easy to apply.

Same boat also me

Selva senthil please share your time line so that Myrah can add u in the excel sheet. Also if you can share little bit about your file.
for example if it's a first marriage, does the person waiting for the visa has any travel history, etc. If you have ordered notes, please share information from your notes too

Hello Everyone,
Question: I have worked in US for few years on work permit(H1-B). Now my company has filed a new work permit and want me to go US by mid January. I would be required to submit my passport to US consulate once this work permit arrives(which I am expecting by first week of January).
Since my passport is already with Canadian Consulate and looking at the pace by which people are getting the visa, I am not sure what to do. Shall I simply wait for Canada visa and then submit my passport to US consulate(to which I am not sure how long this will take) or shall I ask them my passport back from Canadian Consulate(not sure the implication of this) once I get the US work permit?? Any suggestion would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

it is tough call...I don't see anything happening to your file until March (if you are extremely lucky you will get visa in Feb but normally it takes anywhere between 8 months to a year in which we talking about getting your Canadian visa anytime between March and Aug (if you are unlucky like some 2012 applicants, not sure when you will get your visa as it takes longer than a year). If you had your medical earlier than Aug then it is more likely you would get your visa earlier than Aug. All these predictions are based on the assumption that your application is straight forward with no complications. You might be better off asking for passport now and then submitting it later. I have no idea if getting u.s. work visa first and then applying to Canadian consulate for PR would have any problems (not sure at that point they care if they see your work visa permit). Is there a way to tell you employer that you would take the job after June 2014? I understand your plan is to work in the U.S. while having a Canadian PR? if so, that has some implications as you are required to fulfill your PR requirements of living in Canada 2 out of 5 years to maintain your PR.

Thanks for your reply. Yes have done my medicals in MAy and ecas status shows "medical results have been received".
My company is aware of my Canadian PR application. Our plan is to work in US for a year then will send me to Canada location since we have office there too.
Is it good idea to apply GCM notes in mid dec and find out whats happening. Based on that take the decision about the passport?

Also, my case is straight forward ...only thing is I have travel history of 5 years in US to which have already submitted the FBI clearance.

Thnk god buddy I got an update on my ecas it says Medical have been received.
