Not sure if your'e correct. My wife was not there and the passport was received by my mother in law.

you are correct..passport holder can issue a letter authorizing someone else to accept on his/her behalf...in one case a forum member reported that passport package was left by the door (so much for safety and security of important documents)

3 years ago , I immigrated from india as plumber to canada ( as PR)through FSW ( point system). But after immigrating to canada I never did plumbers job over here.
Now i want to sponsor my wife from india.
Will the CIC question me -why am i not working as a plumber for 3 years in canada.
1) will this negetively effect my PR status 2) will my wife have difficulty coming to canada 3) will CIC not give me citizenship

1. No 2. No 3. No (congrats you won a prize for getting all 'No's). People change jobs and live in different places (no, moving to different provinces won't affect your PR status also) in their lifetime. If you are a westerner, you marry many times too. If you have been living on government welfare, it will affect your sponsorship process but not your PR status.

I m not sure 100% but can you change it on ECAS? Or email back to NDVO on the email address that you have form which they must have sent you passport request.

i got a reply from MP saying my application is on final stage waiting for police check to review by an officer
my concern is all about we did POlice clearence in februvary which is already expired in the month of august
but i cant re do it again because my passport is with them since may 7 which is more than 6 month

Welcome to the forum and Congrats! Let's hope for DM soon.
I guess they will contact you once they figure that your police clearance had expired and ask to re do it, if they think it's necessary. It's the medicals tat they seem to be more concerned about if they update about it on ECAS and not about the police clearances.

the turn around time is around 30 days and only the applicant can request the info, Even sponsor is not allowed to receive an update unless they have a consent form. you can alos go to this link and submit a case specific inquiry form. Much better than email as it gets attached to your file.

IMM5476E fill this form if you want to get consent from the applicant to request more info. Tried and failed my self and was told only the applicant can request info and not even if you are a sponsor.

nobody seemed to be replying to infor1234 and you can blame it on NDVO's flood of 'IP', 'DM' and 'PP' returns (somehow when I use all these acronyms, I sound like a professor and I wear glasses too to go with the get up. No suspenders attached to my pants and no pants waist line above the belly button please). Members get so excited expressing their surprise with 'OMG', 'shaky hands', 'shiny visa', emoticons, and mini speeches. So in this excitement, questions may not be get answered but eventually it will be.

You are right, because then there is a flood of the replies to the "'OMG', 'shaky hands', 'shiny visa', emoticons, and mini speeches", such as the congrats, asking for timelines, other questions pertaining to medicals, updates, etc etc... and the thank yous that follow. Sometimes it feels like sitting through the filmfare awards... and the NDVO playing with our applications

It seems that we r almost similiar timeline. Still waiting for an update too. when did you do mp enquiry? Im pretty sure that u will get good news soon since u got in processs..i hope i get it soon. All the best!!
