Hey guys, Just wanted to let you know, I contacted my MP's office two days ago. The office called me today, to update me on my application - This is what she said - "Background check still in progress. File is still in queue and pending. I need to wait until Feb 7, 2014 for an update/good news from CIC as that is when the 12 months period ends. And IF I don't hear back from them even then, I should let my MP's office know and then they will send a 'friendly reminder' to CIC enquiring about my file".

no 1017 form for upfront medical
one of the member raman got dm and updation of the medical at the same time
so many members in process without medical updated so far

Sorry for questioning you again. So there is nothing like so called 'FORM 1017' in your case too???..


And can any of the lucky 'visa issued' members went through the same experience...

I'm a bit confused about what the Upfront Medical is. But when my wife got her Meds done at the Delhi office back in mid January 2013, she walked out with a Medical Receipt (a document)....which had her(from what I remember) photo glued on the top right corner stamped with a partial Maple Leaf. There was a medical file number on there and a signature of the physician, at the bottom of the page.
I believe there was a form number at the top corner as well IMMXXX.
This was the form that was sent with my Application.
I'm at work right now so won't be able to take a look at it until I get home this evening.

Feb 7, 2014 is the date your MP office can check your file next time. They can only check every 3 months. No worries, you will hear good news before that. good luck

I had also sent the upfront medical exam paper to CIC. After my file went In Process last week, the medical results were updated on eCas. I wouldn't worry about it too much. I'm sure they have your medical results with them.

From your post, I conclude

1. my MP and yours are twins (I got almost same message..don't bother us until March/April)
2. all MPs go to same school where they teach to parrot the same message
3. some MPs really make an effort to dig deep to get real answers from NDVO while others just repeat what NDVO says. This is to make us feel good and for them to pat themselves (of course, MPs assistants are there to do that..what else they are paid for?) on their back to make them feel good about themselves
4. MP stand for 'meaningless (if I am in a good mood otherwise M is for moronic) persons' actually it should be 'UP - useless people'

I think you have not done upfront medical
but see in the evening

I'll look at my copy of the letter too and will reply....gotta dig deep into emails for that scan....ages has passed since that crazy phase of forms and docs alll around you....

but as per your post, my guess is, in India the eMedicals is still not available and so they still give you the form1017....not sure though....

Yea, waiting 2 exhale, I just don't know what to say! Lucky are the folks who applied in april and have already got it while people like us and other 2012 applicants are still having to face this sort of wait. They've brought us down to feeling like idiotic monkeys waiting foolishly, aimlessly and endlessly.
