Holy Smokes!!! 13th May that scares me coz I got my notes yesterday and it stated "Recommended Waiver" . This was updated on 16th Sept. Do you have any travel history? and yes it is definfately possible to get DM directly as lot of ppl in 2012 got that but I haven't seen much of them this year.

Oh good to know it's possible to go from app recv to DM. I'm the sponsor actually. Speaking on behalf of my hubby - and yea he has travel history. He's traveled abt 5 times a year over the past few yrs - if that makes you feel any better and safer maybe thats why ours is taking longer

My mind is not working properly. I have hard time recognizing my priority. They are ruining my life. Never thought of this situation. NDVO is making me cry.

hey...you should look at NDVO process as a marathon and it has been 7 months since you had sent in your application. You are almost there and it does not help you or your spouse if you get upset over the process. There are many people who have been waiting for more than a year and half still not knowing when their interview will happen or when their file go into process or when they will get their visas. So, don't get upset and when you don't get obsessed with this whole process, you will put things in perspective. If it helps you to divert your attention from this process (talk to Myrah about the status of big boss and it helps you to get diverted), don't check your ecas or read this forum everyday. Regarding deciding your priority, sometimes you just have to take a plunge and hope for the best.

we are almost same to same...I too applied once in July and notes received in Aug say not started. Again applied in Sep and received couple of days back and still the same not started which was generated on 10th Oct. Now I see status change as in process on 15th ...not sure whats going on.

I applied in May and nothing has yet started. I read a post from one person (from trackitt) who has similar timeline like mine and who had applied for second notes that his notes shows nothing had started yet. Another person in this forum who had his status 'not started yet' for many many months till his status changed suddenly. Anything can happen with 'NDVO'. If you believe in miracles and magic, NDVO is the place to be entertained. Tickets for the show are on sale now.

My second notes will show up in a couple of days and I don't have hope as for changes from 'nothing started yet' but I hope I get to know something about why they have not asked me to send my passport.

Summerside and Roam, I can tell you mine - Under Eligibility, it says 'Recommended passed'.
Also, under Notes, I have 'Interview waiver recommended. File sent to office for review' and this was updated on 17th May. Updated by AM01401.

My Ecas has been showing (1) Application received on Jan 16 and (2) Medicals Received. and the status is stil 'Application received'. Not yet changed to 'in process'.

Is it ever possible on earth for it to go directly from 'Application Received' to 'Decision made'?

sure, it is also possible to get visa and the status not changed from 'application received'..NDVO is a world full of impossibilities and magic.

I wonder how many Indian-Canadians are working in NDVO, probably like 90%

my feeling is lower cadre (checking application content, supporting documents, background checking initiation etc) people are Indians but approval/disapproval is done by Canadian citizens....otherwise, people would find out name of Indian top level officer who does the approval and bribe him

Myrah don't disappoint Canadian immigration officials...they have been waiting for your notes request. Everything at CIC is at a standstill because of you. Also, they are low on funds and your $5 would give immigration officials some Christmas bonus (if NDVO is involved in this process then they need diwali bonus). I believe in Santa Claus and he knows that I have been nice to NDVO people since May. So will an ND visa officer dressed as a Santa clause (or clown, I don't care anybody dressed whatever from there please) deliver my shiny visa in November (a month before Christmas).

i dont think notes will make any difference...so better not to apply

some people swear that applying for 'notes' made all the changes...I should have applied for 'notes' a month after I sent in my application. If I had done it, by now, I would have been holding my shiny visa in Canada. Yes, you are right that there is no correlation between applying notes and changing status but notes helps to figure out why passport request has not been issued or what is the current status. Or get depressed (for some people) over no changes.

Hi Gulzar I am Pooja and is new to this forum. My husband have raised PR for me under spouse category and just sent file to Mississouga...

Will share time line once any process starts hope things will shape up soon and soon we will be together ...thnx for nice initiative ...it has given great guidance...

Does that mean it will take entirly one year ??? or 6-8 months is the total time required. I have attached all my docs medical, Police clearance with the file.

Mostly it would take 6-8 months else if there any query or concern then it can delay little more though NDVO never give us clear picture about how process goes and how exact time they take for process file...but don't worry wish you will get visa by the usual timeline

check last two pages of your report - notes section..maybe that might tell you if you have an interview or not..from what you have posted it is unclear if you have an interview or not (maybe seniors might have a better explanation..also if someone who is reading this had ordered 'notes' and they have been asked to appear for interview, they can help you to understand your 'notes') ..form what i have read from people posting in this forum if there is an interview NDVO usually states 'interview recommended'....with minimal information you have provided one thing is clear NDVO is working on your file (I know i am stating the obvious and that's why no one has nominated me for noble prize)
