someone in immigration topics had a thread saying 'Magic Canada sticker affixed to my wife's passport. What now?'. Should I tell him it is not magic sticker but it is shining visa? or is it only NDVO that gives shining visa while other visa offices stick an ordinary looking sticker?

I sent another email to MP ...and Look what I got as reply...

"this is my email: Good afternoon,

Thank you for kind and prompt reply. I understand the waiting time/rules. Therefore, I am not able to contact immigration office till end of 11 months. However, Many people who applied same timeline as me ,are getting some-short of online updates and even getting visa by now. As per immigration forum, many people failed to receive email from immigration requesting any extra documents which was the cause for delay in updates for visa. And, they got to know through MP inquiry only. I just want to know if you can help me to find out whether I am missing any documents or missing any emails that been sent by immigration. It is my humble request if it is possible. or please guide me , how can I get these information. Your help will be highly appreciated. "

this reply i got from MP:
"Once the officer begins to review your application they will notify you if there are any documents missing and they will not know this until that time. Like I said, they will not jump the queue so the people that you are referring to would have had to apply long before your application went in."

It is very very disappointing statement....with obvious no efforts done to help for inquiry....

I was thinking of bringing my AK47.....just kidding Cheesy

they would ask you to mail your AK47 to CIC and they will transfer to NDVO and the wait begins..then you would plan to visit the office with another one but they insist on mailing it to CIC and the cycle continues...I am know my mind is twisted and I don't need any confirmation...

you are very funny....., ur every post makes me laugh.
Keep it up...

  • I am March applicant , I applied on 4th march.....
I contact MP of my area and I got following answer:

" Thank you for contacting the office of David Christopherson, MP Hamilton Centre. According to Immigration website, processing time for New Delhi is 11 months once the file has been transferred there from Mississauga. Therefore we cannot make an enquiry until the 11 months has passed. We would then send New Delhi an e-mail asking what the status of the application is. They will not give us an update until after that time, they will simply tell our office that they are well within processing times. Unfortunately, they will not expedite any application for any reason. Please do not hesitate to contact me once the processing time has passed, but please do keep an eye on the website as these times change every so often."

It seems very useless. truly dont know what to do... :-[

your MP must have had his training at one of the visa offices (NDVO would be ideal place to get training for to give standard answers)..don't despair and be proactive..order GCMS notes and see what it says..have patience since it takes 30 days to get an electronic version

I personally think MP inquiry are wast of time, this is how all MPs are. Just apply for GCMS notes and follow. Such a waste of time and effort to talk to MP.

everyone should realize that by making these constant inquiries you are actually slowing the process as now instead of reviewing active files and making decisions the VO has to search people's files and provide status updates. You applied in March, I work with a girl who applied early Feb at VDVO and still hasnt heard anything. So I would suggest just waiting, as frustrating it may be.

nothing lost in trying different things...some MPs have been really helpful and some take the lazy short cut..mine did not lie since GCMS states the name of my MP and the date he called...I got to see my MP's office and got the goosebumps (being sarcastic of course) when I saw my MP walk by (almost tempted to do it Indian style...MP oliver ki jai...had I known that he would be walking by when I was in his office I would taken entourage of my fellow Indians and garlanded my MP with Canadian dollar notes a la Mayawati style and shouted some slogans)

I have heard these thing from a couple new bees on the forum (who have been not so much active on the forum) and this is something that nothing has to do with the processing delay of the files. But now i am a bit suspicious with this as all you are not the people working in Ndvo and bro/sis in case if you are working please tell them to do the processing of our files faster >:(

Hardly lol I know it is a frustrating process to wait. I will be submitting my file to another VO next week for my husband's sponsorship. I check this forum for NDVO for my friend who is waiting on a decision for her husband's sponsorship (she applied in February 2013) and heard absolutely nothing as of yet. She did have the MP contact the office and the only information they were abel to confirm is that her husband's passport, medicals have been received, and the application is pending review (this happened about 2 weeks ago). One thing to realize is that not everyone that applied is on this forum, but based on number of applications for FAM sponsorship from the NDVO in a 3 motnhs period they receive close to 7000 files. Last year for FAM sponsorship alone NDVO office processed over 28,000 files.

Where can I find application assignment due date ?
What I understand from discussion in this forum, this is the date when visa officer will review your file.

Is this true ?

My Spouse landed in Edmonton, AB on October 09, 2013. :)
