Maple- I agree with you. But there have been confirmations that PAFSO is now paying strikers 100% of their salary so that they can commit fully to the cause.
Here is the article I am referring to
http://www.sunnewsnetwork.ca/sunnews/politics/archives/2013/07/20130729-151852.html

Normally, when you strike you get a stipend, when i went on strike 7 years ago with PSAC (it lasted one week), I got either $50-75/day (I can't remember now). It surely is not enough money to live in most countries. I am sure the strikers want to go back to work, no one wants to picket. It is not fun. But there is a reason we have unions and PAFSO is protecting their members. It's the gov't who should be looking out for us citizens, because they are the people we vote for not the union.

Secondly, no one has released any statement about this strike going on until the fall, let's try to be positive and share factual information about the strike.
Here is a great place to talk to other people going through the same thing: And lot of good news articles being posted from around the globe

Thanks skas13. It's good to know people are being rational about this situation.

Also everyone, note: ITS A ROTATING STRIKE. NDVO is striking today, maybe later they'll get some other VO to strike.

Today we cry, tomorrow we laugh.

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to share some good news with everyone. My wife received a call from NDVO yesterday asking her if she can travel to canada by august 20th. She was told they are sending the passport asap and that she should get ready to leave for Canada. Also august 20th is the date the medical was received by NDVO last year and hence would be expiring after a year. (Actual medicals were done on August 8th last year)

I was very disappointed hearing about the strike but it seems NDVO is still processing cases although at a slower pace. I know its hard but try to stay positive. I would suggest contacting your local MP as I feel it really helped.

Hello,

I received my GCMS notes today and found that PPR was sent on 18th March (my consultant never told us).
I need suggestions how should I proceed now?
Should I send the PP to NDVO with cover letter as few others members did that earlier (afraid of taking risk coz of strike) or ask NDVO to re-send the PPR (even this is not a good option).

Please guys suggest me.

Thanks.

This makes me so angry and sick at these greedy strikers! I wish my salary was even close to what they receive at the moment. *slow clapping for PAFSO*

First of like want to say congratulation to you.

I had applied for my wife in May-2012 after that she had an interview in Jun-2013. NDVO asked her to do Re-medical and PCC, she had submit all papers 4 weeks ago but we didn't get any respond back from NDVO. I just want to know MP enquiry help does NDVO respond back to MP. I'm going to ask my local MP for enquiry.

It seems they do respond to the MP. In my case the MP office got back to me within a week which was followed by the call from NDVO. You should definitely try to contact the MP office asap since its way past processing time. Good luck!

Has anyone sent an email to NDVO and gotten a reply in the past 2 weeks?
