Oh yes Sir we applied on 10th April - 2012. CAP says criminal and security check going on...... Eligibility passed and interview waiver recommended.... We have submitted new medical and PCC around April - 2013....... I think because of the strike every thing is stand still as our medical is also recently submitted.......
Tough times.........

Oh...it is sad....You applied a week before than me. At least they asked you to do remedical and PCC but in my case ( As per GCMS Notes) it was written ask for re-medical issue and then in next GCMS notes it was written that entered in error. and on query from MP , they are now saying that background check in progress in Canada...I don't know how other people got their PP with visa who even applied six months later than us... It is really not a transparent Immigration system. :( I also got my new PCC but I am confused if I should send it without their request.

I am a Aug/Sept. 2012 applicant...and my wife and sons passport is with NDVO since November 2012. And now the medicals have expired in July 2013. Now waiting for re-medical request...but not sure how long it will take.

I guess now we will start seeing comments about people's medicals, PCC etc expiring thanks to the strike.

This wait gets worse now. This is patience test to the limit.

Suggestion:
Is it possible to compile a list of all people whose medicals or PCC are going to expire now.

This way, eventually when the strike is over and they get back to work and start sending Re-medical requests, we can follow each other's progress and I'm sure will feel good to see some movement around us.

Just a suggestion.

Great suggestion but the way visa office works is very unpredictable and depends on the vo mood per say... The strike will be over in sept but there will be a huge backlog because of some people's never ending greed and egos.
I don't personally expect any real movement till October..

It's better to marry someone in Canada.. Lol

Thank You! and now the great search starts for that rare cheap ticket during this extra expensive month before start of semester.
Prices will go down as soon as September 5 comes around... but my hands are tied... her medical expires on 31st August. Damn!

hello..

I just want to know you are 2013 applicant or 2012 applicant?
November 2012 applicant here.

@ others -

I applied for GCMS notes and figured it would take them about 2-3 weeks to access the file.
I got my MP to do an enquiry. I also sent NDVO emails reminding them that medicals are expiring at the end of August. I tried to make sure that all the above three happened during the same week.
To be honest, I don't think the above made too much of a difference, but... maybe it did? cant say for sure.

Wife got a call on monday asking if she can travel before expiry of medical. She said yes. Another call 2 hours after that asking her to come collect her passport.

Passport collection time is 3PM at NDVO office usually. We were there at 3PM. Not many people around. Only Indian staff within office... atleast they were the only that my wife could see. The concerned official was nice to deal with, and handed over visa, landing papers, all of our photos and marriage cards sent with the initial application. Total time spent within the office - about 15 min.

They did cancel her existing multiple entry TRV though. Said you cant have a PR and a TRV of the same country at the same time.

Hope you found this useful.

Regards,
Rajat

Thats what they have been doing for all the indian applicants but I dont see the difference. They can do the same thing to Nepalese since we are so close to India. We can travel to India by air without passport anyways... Takes one hr by air 8) ONLY!

Hello there,
I have couple of doubts regd organizing my spousal VISA docs. I am planning to apply soon.

1. Are you guys arranging the application as per checklist order or separating according to Sponsor and Sponsored person's doc.

2. It says we have to provide 6 photos as per immigrations requirement, are you guys putting a date at the back of the photos or just the stamp from the photo lab.

Thanks for your help

One good news for all Nepali applicants. Consulate Office is open again in new location. I sent someone to check new location. Front Desk was open for applicants from 9AM-11:59AM. So my relative could not ask them in detail. He is going tomorrow again. It is near National Medical Centre where we did medical test and x-ray. You also can send someone to talk to them in the office. And share more info here

Hello seniors and friends

I am new to this thread.

I am a permanent resident of canada. I went there last year and after that came back to get married. I am now planning to get married. I need to know few things.

I worked for few weeks in canada before coming and made few dollars and before coming brought all the money back with me. I haven't filed an Income tax return for the last year and moreover have no money in a bank account there in canada. But it doesn't mean that I am financially weak, after going there once again may deposit the same.

what do I need to show as documents to file her case in canada? How much fund is required for her and for me to sponsor her.

New delhi is currently on strike, so what is the expected time do u think that she may get visa within.

Kindly reply and let me know few other things that I need from your experience and case. Your reply may help me in getting married soon.

regards

There is no income requirement as such for spousal sponsorship. You just need to make sure you are not on social assistance.

But as a PR you MUST be residing in Canada when you file the application. So when you plan to file your wife's PR application, get to Canada and get a job there. Only after you are in Canada and you prove that you plan to stay there should you file. If not you run the risk of getting rejected in Stage 1. Get a home or rent and show your rental agreement. Any other long term evidence will also be good.

Only Citizens are allowed to be outside Canada when sponsoring a spouse or child.

Given the strike action, I can only say file asap. There will definitely be a lot of backlog now and it will only keep piling up as long as the strike is ongoing. We don't know when it will end. We don't know when even the 2012 applicants will be through. There is nobody here that can give you a definite answer.

The only thing you can do is get to canada, get a job etc and file the application.

Good luck! :)

Finally I have Decision Made on my E-file.

Does anyone know how long it takes to receive Confirmation Letter since the decision made?

And how long it takes to get the passport back? It seems few days ago my status was updated.
