congrats Indocan, Atleast you have the PPR now......

I am also confused for this PCC business I am awaiting PPR for my husband hope it comes via email.......
Should I ask him to get a new PCC anyways...I think his PCC was from March and if it is valid for 6 months I am good till September.......

Should I ask him for one as It takes almost a month to get a PCC or should I just chill out????

Manorite...

they wnt request for PCC, however on the PPR form they require 3 things.
1. fees to be paid
2. PP
3. PCC if not submitted

You guys have to understand, they dont open your file when they send you the PPR.

when they actually open your file and if they find out that the PCC has crossed the 6 months mark they might request for another one at that point.

So if i ware you, i would get another one made just so the process doesnt get delayed.

Sumit.

you are right zearus..

As long as your PPR was made before the PCC expiry date they wont bother about it.

if the PPR take longer then normal then they do request PCC to throw on the file before they actually issue the visa.

plus, i dont think they go date by date .... even if its a bit over 6 months ... i think they would still consider it valid ....

Everyone, PCC (India) issued from Passport office which includes a stamp on the passport and a PCC letter is usually submitted at the time when application is submitted.

Yes, PCC can have expiry dates depending upon the issuing authority and country and if it does it will say that on the PCC letter or whatever you obtain and submit to CHC. Indian PCC do not have an expiry date. They Do not expire, the way they do the PCC in india is "its a police check" for the time before you submitted the application. IF a PCC have an expiry and if it does expire, CHC will seek for a newer one. For New Delhi, its not the case as PCC from Passport office do not have any expiry date. PCC has nothing to do with passport request. As an e.g if a person obtains two PCCs, one for India (no expiry) and one lets say Dubai (with expiry). Now if at any time during the process till the VISA is issued if the PCC from Dubai expires they will ask to get a new one. They will not ask for India PCC again as it do not expire.

The only condition which affect Indian PCC is that it has be issued within 3 months of the time when you submitted your application. So, if you were to get a PCC from india now and submit your application lets say in 4 months from now.. this PCC will not be accepted.

I hope this helps..

Sometimes, a person do not submit the PCC(one or all) when they submit the application, its for that reason VO reminds the applicant to submit all PCC if not already submitted...

Cheers!

i think I am gonna wait and not freek out about the PCC yet......Waiting for PPPPPPRRRRRRRR

Hi JennyChen1401,

I hear you! I continued to wait for this day to arrive for the past 6 weeks. Although, many of them here got the PPR within 2-3 weeks after approval it took a while for me (and maybe for one other person here on this forum).

I am sure your day will come soon. If you do get it soon then I guess you don't need to worry about a PCC expiring in mid Aug 2012.

Good Luck to you and all :-)
