Hello Everyone,

Could I please be updates on how to start the process of applying for spouse visa? Shud i apply in Canada or from India ? I am on FSW PR visa.
Initial Landing in Canada: Dec 2012
Projected Marriage: Feb 2013 in India

Here is the site where the details of sponsoring spouse are mentioned

You can go through it and arrange for collecting relevant forms.
There are two parts to the process. Sponsor Approval and PR process for spouse. Process will start from Canada only. You will have to submit your documents in Canada. Let us know if there is any specific information you need.

I am thinking we were in fact unlucky to have our ecas status go 'In Process' since sept 26th. I wish there were enough words to vent out my frustration. Only words I can utter are the ones I cannot post in public forums. Enough is enough.

I never thought I would touch the 180 day mark when I applied. My consultant told me that my case is so simple, it should take four months or so.

Yup. That's all we can do. I do not mean to discourage anyone. But I think I will think about all this only after Diwali now. Just so tired of being frustrated.

when i check my ecase status, it shows my current mailing address of canada but i have sent my local address of punjab india along with my passport on 21 september,2012 . but it still did'nt get updated on my ecase. plz tell me is it normal?

Has it been showing canada address since the beginning? I may be due to the address you entered in the application. If you have clearly written that they should mail the passport back to your India address when you sent sent the passport then it should be ok. Else there is an option to update your mailing address.

yeah its been shown canada address since beginning.....and i have sent letter to them specifically mentioning about my new mail address.

Either you can send them an email about your mailing address or you can update it on ecas by logging in with yours Id and then click on update mailing address....
