I am also in a similar situation: I applied on Feb 27 to CIC Mississauga. Submitted wife's passport on July 10. Received query for additional documents on August 17. Submitted additional documents on August 21. After that received email on September 6 from ND office that additional documents have been received.mumble said:Yes, I agree with you. 5 months is huge time. I don't even think its legal to hold a passport for that long. Is there any reason why the MP has not been able to provide any answers? Did you write to the delhi-im-enquiry @ international.gc.ca regarding your situation?
Since then I have not received any more communication.
My lawyer sent email query to ND office on October 10 requesting status of application. Now it is October 27 and no reply has been received. I have also approached MP, but the MP told me that as per the CIC website information, ND takes 9 months so my application is within the time frame and I should wait until March 2013. This does not make sense as most of the applicants have been approved in 2 months.
I am quite frustrated !
