Ashu, I was interested by your response and thought of two things: first, there's no hard and fast rules when it comes to Delhi. The very fact that they're starting to conduct out of the blue phone interviews is something new. So we shouldn't assume that a phone interview negates the need for an in-person interview.
Second, if the sponsor accompanies the applicant to the interview, there's absolutely no evidence to believe that this would be viewed unfavourably by the visa officer. It might conversely be seen as a sign that the sponsor is committed enough to travel over from Canada, which is obviously a point in her favour. Maybe both will be interviewed but maybe not - we've seen both types of scenarios among people on this forum. I hope the sponsor in this case doesn't become fearful of accompanying her husband for the wrong reasons, should they find themselves in that situation. That's my two cents.
yes amira you are right but i have been through same situation and i think, it would be better to attend interview alone, if sponsor is outside of India.
in case sponsor travels to India especially for interview, VO asks
*why didnt you visit your spouse before interview, its been a long time after marriage. it seems you came just to support your spouse because s/he is not confident about explaining your relationship. and your intention behind marriage is immigrating your spouse to Canada.
*they dont interview sponsor, if they have no doubts about relationship, i mean if reason for interview is something else such as misrepresentation, missing docs, applicant's background or intention to immigrate to canada. but if they have doubts about genuineness of relationship, they will interview both and separately.
after all it really depends on individual person, if they think, they can handle that situation, they should attend interview together
if you go to interview together, interviewer can ask you very simple questions and you wont be able to answer correct something like
"colour of your driver's dress" and we dont remember
*what time did you
-go to bed,
-wake up
-leave for interview
-did you both take bath this morning and where, what kind of soap and shampoo, color of towel and where did you put your towel after bath
if wife is pregnant or not? if yes- when is she due?
if no- why not and how can you say that for sure?? name/brand of precautions you used.
and they ask these questions separately and match your answers
there is no list for these questions but they can ask anything to confuse you
be careful and best of luck to everyone waiting for DM
i know these questions are very simple but its very hard to answer correct at the time
