New Delhi - 2012 applicants

Hi Guys,

I checked status in e-cas today and it shows "In Process".

It goes on to say "We started processing your application on August 6, 2012."


What next ? How long does it stay in "In Process" status ?

Please advice.

Application File: 13 Mar, 2012
Decision Made and Approval Sent on: 20th June, 2012
File Received in India and Application for PR Requested : 6th June, 2012
Application and Passport sent and received on : 12 June,2012

they created new client number and application id ,im not sure it happens
Also i see null before my wife name and i cannot track the client number or application number created in ND.
So any have an y experience or any suggestion to call the ND office or wait liitle bit more

*after transferring file to ND they assign new UCI to applicant (your wife).
*she has no surname in passport, thats why they put her first name as surname and NULL as first name. (if her name is kiran kumari, they will put NULL kiran kumari, in Canada its mandatory to have surname)
* you need to use your details with your UCI and your wife's details with her UCI, then it will work fine, (put her full name as "surname" in ECAS)
you can not call ND, they dont answer and i dont think you need to call them iff you want you can contact your MP to get status of your file.

yes Ashu is right I have same case, I don't have surname mentioned in Docs so I put my full name while checking status of application online. I also have null before my full name. we have submitted application on same date thats 13th march.

Can u elaborate...what do u mean by agencies for background check n security checks....How do they do it...any idea....because hkbasi n i got the passport request same time....so what are these guys doing still initial review....its very confusing...though my case is very straight fwd

initial review means, your VO is confirming that your relationship is true and your intention to move to canada is to be with your spouse nothing else. if VO is convinced with details provided in application and supporting docs, he will forward your file for checks. after initial review, they need to check your backgrounds in each country, where you lived and worked after 18. they need to do security check on all applicants to check criminal records. before they issue your visa, they need to confirm that your are admissible to Canada.
CIC does not conduct these checks on its own but sends your information to outside agencies (CSIS and CBSA) these companies have their branches or contacts with other overseas agencies all over the world. ??? CIC has no hold on these agencies, they take there time for these checks and CIC waits for their reply for further processing. if you want, you can contact CSIS and they will reply within 30 days.
if your case is simple and straight forward, you dont need to worry about anything, you will get your visa soon

there was nothing different really but we had some issues and VO wanted to confirm such as
-met on matrimonial
-started living together after 3 months
-got married in UK after 5-6 months of living together
-parents didnt attend marriage in UK
-her parents didnt attend reception in India after 3 months of court marriage
-sponsor still outside of Canada
-he asked some personal questions to confirm, if we are living together or not
-plans after moving to Canada
he just confirmed these things and said congratulation

i got my wife's canadian address as current home address on ecas. i think it was last step from CHC-ND and i hope to receive my passport and COPR soon.
