Andy - thanks for your reply on my earlier question and also updating my file in the excel db.

Thanks Andy!

Another question: Do you think my PR application has any implications on my wife's visitor visa application? She already got medical request and completed her medicals - I'm hoping that she gets it soon.

Thank you.

from what ive heard, immigration process and visa process are two different things and do not affect one another

Agree with HY325. It will not have any impact.

Interesting read ... particularly the part:

But the government denies moving resources around as a way to deal with the strike.

“It is typical that Citizenship and Immigration Canada shifts resources during the summer months from permanent resident application processing to temporary resident application processing to meet an increased demand for visitor visas and study permits during these months,” department spokesperson Glenn Johnson said in an email to the Star.

Hey ...Can you add my details in spread sheet

Fee paid - Bank Draft

Based on the article, this shift in focus on temporary visas is temporary - only until fall ends :)

Also, as temporary foreign worker program has become more stringent, I would see an increasing pressure on CIC to process PR applications (especially FSW and CEC) faster than earlier.

Hope, us, Jan applicants see MRs in the near future :)

Hello,

I've a question regarding GCMS. What is the difference between Access to Information Act and Privacy Act request?

In the month of July, I had applied for GCMS-Access to Information Act by paying 5$ fee. I received the file through email. Now, in the month of September, I've applied for GCMS again - through the Privacy act. Has anybody applied through both acts? Were the GCMS files different from each other?

Thanks,

no difference as far as im aware. if youre physically in canada then you can use privacy act and dont need to pay the fee. however if youre not in canada, you apply under access to info act and pay $5 fee
