Hello folks,

I was reading the topic because the CEC application is one doable way that I've found for moving to Canada (right after the MPNP proccess).
There's a lot of valuable information here that cleared many questions that were in my head about the process, but I still have some issues with all the abbreviations that are being used here.

Is there in the forum a list for newbies with the meanings of common acronyms? I'm kinda lost with the meaning of MR and AOR, for example. :(

Thanks and best regards.

this might help - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/glossary.asp

MR = medical request
AOR = Acknowledgment of receipt

Just a heads up - I would make a new thread for off topic questions like that :)

Cheers

MR for Jan applications is good sign.

But, I'm still wondering whats happening with December applications. I see only couple of MRs so far where as more than 50% of November applications have got MRs (even the ones submitted at the end of November).

Just curious. Any theory behind this?

Thank you very much!

Congrats! Can you please update your timelines in the Jan 2013 spreadsheet. It will help others get an idea of their position.

Andy,

I don't know how to send reply for your PM but here is the answer you looking for

Citizenship country: India
Visa Office : Ottawa
NOC : 2174 ( Earlier was a typo)
ECAS : Application Received

PS : I sent my PCC ( both India and Canada) on July, hope that might speed up process.

That's no problem. I have updated your details in the Jan 2013 tracker.

Folks, do take note > In many instances, although MR is issued, ECAS still continues to show 'Application Received'. So better don't conclude on the application status based on ECAS.

Got a new set of GCMS notes from August.
Basically nothing has changed except for NOA &T4 2012 I sent were added to my file.

Of course except your application is well suited for a quick processing if you have NOC 2174 on your application ;)

Can you please tell why 2174 is processed faster?

I just want to understand why some applications are processed faster than others .

Thanks!

I too applied (in jan) under 2174 and 2171. However, only 2171 is mentioned in gcms.

My friend who applied with noc 2174 in August 2012, got his pr in August 2013. It took exactly one year to get PR.

I'm hoping for some good news in sept :)
