Landed today at Carway. Complete process was over in about 30 min without any hassles. They asked work permits, passports and CoPRs and after looking at the documents for about 10 min officer asked us to sign on CoPR and that was it. Getting PR after going through agonizing waiting time of 11 months is so satisfying. I would really like to thank all the forum members for the help they provided. Good luck to all the Jan applicants :)

Congrats vyasd! :) :) :)

Finally landed yesterday. Two points I would like to share
1. I have a US tourist visa, so I went to buffalo in morning and did "heavy" shopping. Thinking I can declare everything as Canada entry is for landing with PR.
Nope, Thats not the case. Immigration officer asked me to pay the taxes as we have not stayed for long in US. Although it is landing I cannot be exempt for the items newly purchased.
I didnt do my research on this and just went with some advises.
So be careful, dont think we can do shopping and declare when landing.

2. The signed CoPR letter is very important even after getting the PR card. The immg officer asked me to put it in a safety locker in bank :)..really...
For those who are not aware or mentioned during landing, keep the letter safe.

Congrats!
The customs thing sucks - you have to be out for a certain # of hours etc.
If in doubt just wear as much of it as you can (assuming you bought clothes) :)

Hello Friends,

Got my copr yesterday and landed today at Coutts! the experience was pleasant (apart from the drive from calgary) :)
The immigration desk personal was warm and friendly. the total process took less than 1 hour ... And yes the landing document should be kept in safe locker !

Thank you all for all the tips and inputs.
this forum is wealth of information with respect to CEC vPR process. and over 200 pages explain how active the forum was...
Happy New year !!

Does anyone know if I can personally go and submit my passport at CPP-O and receive/collect my passport?? (instead of waiting for 15 days for passport to return)

I have already received my PPR but due to Family emergency- I might have to travel immediately out of country for more than 2 months.

Can anyone suggest any option?

Unfortunately Cpp-o doesn't have public access (can you imagine the queues and chaos if it did). I think you'll have to wait it out - or fly back and send your passport from there - maybe have it sent back to a friend in canada (via trackable mail) who can then courier it back to you

I'm waiting for my passport return. I am wondering what's next after landing? How long does it takes canadian passport or canadian citizenship? i mean what's the next procedure would be after landing.

Congrats, Happy new year
