Need Visitor Visa quickly

Hi, I am planning to go to Canada for a two days visit next week and come back. My current US visa is only till end fo this month. Can I apply for that since I heard that visitor visa should be applied a month time in advance. I dont have month time to wait for. Incase if I get one, how long is the Canada visa valid? Thanks in advance.

You can get a TRV from the Canadian Consulate General in NYC but you'd have to be there early and show as much proof of your ties with the US but considering that your US visa is also expiring then there's a chance you won't get a positive result. But you can try. It is only $75 for single entry and $150 for multiple. the validity of the visa depends on how long the visa officer gives you, normally 6 months for single entry and a year or more for multiple.

What about applying for a transit visa its a 48 hr visa to enter canada usually used for when you are take landing in Canada to only take another plane... you could see if it works...
