Hi,

I'm a premanent resident of Canada and 6mos pregnant with twins. I just came back here from a vacation in our home country last June. My husband is still in the Philippines and I want him here before my due date on October 30, 2017.

Please enlighten me on our concerns:

* Is there a possibility to approve him for a tourist visa given that he has a good job and savings?

* I am living with my sister here in Canada and have a part time job and my financial status is not good enough. Also, I was advised to stay off from work due to my condition. Will it be a red flag to my husband's tourist visa application?

* Can we submit the spousal sponsorship and the tourist visa application at the same time?

He plans to stay here in Canada for two months only after I give birth to our twins then he will go back to our home country to continue his job while waiting for his spousal visa.

Thanks in advance.

>> Is there a possibility to approve him for a tourist visa given that he has a good job and savings?

Yes. But for a tourist visa he has to demonstrate ties to his country (and intention to return back). One problem is that with you being his wife, he already has strong ties to Canada

No. As long as your husband has good income and can support his travel, it's OK.

Yes. But there is a very high likelihood, his tourist visa would be denied.

If I were you, I would consider applying for a tourist visa (TRV) first. And then apply for a PR visa once you have TRV handy. At least that way he can travel to Canada when your kid is born. There is no way his spousal sponsorship will get approved in less than 3 months. TRV visa could be done in much less time.
