Hello,
I got stuck in some of questions while going through IMM5490: SPONSORED SPOUSE/PARTNER QUESTIONNAIRE...so could someone plz help me out sharing the correct information on the following queries on IMM5490. Thank you.

- Our marriage is truly arranged one. That means our parents met and discussed about our marriage and get ready to go ahead if received green signal from both of us. We never met before, so we were asked to meet once to know each other and to give decision. We met one day for couple hours and talked briefly about each other and finally came to the decision that we are ready to get married. But we never proposed each other. In this context, what would be my answer in question no. 12: who proposed?

- Q16a) Did your sponsor have to travel to your country for marriage?

I (sponsor) went to my home country and stayed couple of months and While I was there I get married. so where should be marked in q16a), is it Yes or No?

- Likewise, question no 17 asking when was the marriage arranged? What does that mean, is it asking for marriage date (wedding day) or something else?

- Q26 b) asking in what language your sponsor communicate?...mostly we communicate in Facebook using our own native language. So my question is do I have to translate (unofficial or official) our conversations in english while presenting proof to CIC or it makes no difference whatever languages we use during chatting?

Hi

12. Just put something like "No proposal, as it was an arranged marriage."

16. You had to travel for the marriage, so obviously the answer is "Yes".

17. As it says, the date it was arranged, so the date your parents decided you would be married, NOT the wedding date.

26. If you are providing the chats as proof, yes, translate them. It doesn't have to be an official translation, you can do it yourself.

It's not considered a proposal. It would be better to just put that there was no proposal because it was arranged.

I think the best approach in your case is to also provide brief explanations either on the form(if there is enough space) or attach a separate paper(make sure the name of the form, question number, your name and date of birth are written at the top of the paper).

Q.12 - "No proposal, as it was an arranged marriage". Then explain, "Our marriage is truly arranged one. That means our parents met and discussed about our marriage and get ready to go ahead if received green signal from both of us. We never met before, so we were asked to meet once to know each other and to give decision. We met one day for couple hours and talked briefly about each other and finally came to the decision that we are ready to get married. But we never proposed each other."

Thank you very much guys for continued guidance. I agreed with you guys in q12. Better would be to mention, "no proposal....." and explanation in separate sheet. Thank you once again.

Q9. Describe how your relationship developed after your first contact/meeting with your sponsor and if you and your sponsor dated or went on any outings or trips together. Provide photos and documentary evidence of events or activities in which you both participated. If insufficient space, use a separate sheet of paper.

Hello there,

I am confused how much information they are asking for. is it to write the story after first contact/meeting till the day when wedding was fixed or till engagement day or till wedding day or something else? Plz help me out. Thank you in advance.

yes, they want to know about how your relationship developed after you met. For my application, i included up until the date the application was submitted. they are looking for as much information as you have. they want to see the relationship is ongoing.

You should be filing for 2013 if you worked for a couple months before leaving the country. You would have received a T4 slip with your earnings for 2013. Once you have filed your taxes you will be able to get your option C

Hello guys,

Q6. Give any additional details describing the circumstance of your first meeting with your sponsor. If insufficient space, use a separate sheet of paper.

Can you plz someone help me to define circumstance of your first meeting. As far as my understanding, I have described as how was it possible to have a first meeting with my sponsor. I mean I wrote the facts like our parents met once at my home and they decided to let us meet once in person to know each other and agreed to accept any decision we take regarding our marriage. Then my sponsor one day called me to meet him at xxxx place where we got introduced each other and discussed about interest and bla bla including about our marriage....Thats it. Now my concern is have I addressed this question or do I have to write something more? or Plz help me....

Thank you in advance
