I suggest we should all send case specific enquiries. That way it might pressure them to speed things up.

From what I have learnt dealing with them last one year, sending enquiry or update request on your application has no bearing of the speed of your application. IF you have a response from them for your application enquiry, it will be very generic "We are working on your application and will finalize as soon as possible" or something along those lines. The office only started working last month, so let's give them bit of time. Hopefully, you will hear something either this month or the next.

If it's been over a year since application and you haven't already done so, would recommend the sponsor contact their MP - sometimes they are apparently helpful, and their office will at least get you some more details on what is being held up.

My PR is through Express Entry Economy category. Yours is perhaps under Family, so, although our stages are the same, our timeline for each stage is different.

I got my AOR Sep 26 2019. I received the biometric letter and medical pass (for our category, we give up front medical) on 18 October 2019. My file then transferred to Nairobi end of October.

I received biometric payment request from them in January. I was surprised as I did already and shared with them my initial receipt. In February, they requested my non-accompanying spouse’s biometric and also if i am changing spouse to accompanying (they misunderstood a follow email I sent to them prior to their request), so I informed them that I am not changing anything and they should cancel the biometric request for the spouse. Normal process: biometric is not needed from non-accompanying dependents.

In March, they stopped working on PR. Requested GCMS in May and received it end of May. GCMS clarified to me that biometric spouse is and was a mandatory request whether spouse is accompanying or not. I paid the fee in June and asked for biometric letter.

So long story... We received the letter last Thursday and gave the bio on Monday.
