My husband got his passport back and COPR today :) Praying for good news for you all too.

Big congrats! Out of curiosity, how long did it take for passport to go from Addis to Nairobi and back? Looks like about 2 weeks? I really am having a tough time with this last little part of waiting!

I think it tends to be VO dependent - biometrics is pretty much always early in the process, whereas some VOs put the medical close to the end. Probably because it expires after a year... so if they are slow, you have to re-do it.

Yes, my husband had to get an additional x-ray because the first was not clear. Some of the people in the waiting room were having to do sputum tests for TB. Hope it goes quickly for you!

The stage at which the medical comes varies by VO - my husband got his medical request Sept 20th with biometrics back in Feb, transfer to Nairobi VO in early March (which was then closed for 6 months). It seems for Nairobi it varies a lot how close to the end this step actually is though... for...

If it's been over a year since application and you haven't already done so, would recommend the sponsor contact their MP - sometimes they are apparently helpful, and their office will at least get you some more details on what is being held up.

Received medical request Sept 20, but earliest appointment availability was Oct 9th so still waiting for that. He got a Pre-arrival letter on Oct 1st, but it's my understanding that doesn't mean a whole lot in terms of timeline.

Medical request from the Nairobi VO dated Sept 18, 2020!!! So excited! (It comes later in the process, not right after biometrics for this VO for some reason).

I agree, though heart breaking for those of us separated from our loved ones... I'm so worried about my spouse and when we will be able to see eachother again :( Sending big virtual hugs to others in this situation, and also to those separated from other family members.
