sorry it is taking a while, but my husband got the email not me, and ethiopia/canada telecommunications are not always so easy. it was from a donotreply@cic.gc.ca or similar. husband tried to book a medical today but couldn't get through to the iom clinic - but also had a very busy work day so wasn't able to spend all day trying to reach. he's hoping to have more free time tomorrow.

I figured it will be from donot reply email because that means the medical request was sent to your GCkey account. And the email you received was just notification of the message in your GCKey account.

It is the same I got in January 2020 when new medical was requested from me by Nairobi VO.

It is great news indeed.

@Arma IOM should be working. At least I know VFS in Ethiopia is working.

No update on my file. It is so sad, I hope they finalize my application and everyone else’s applications ASAP!

Good news ....."Canada to speed up spousal sponsorship ...

Canada is seeking to process and finalize 6,000 spousal sponsorship applications each month between October and December 2020.



This major news has just been announced by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

IRCC has increased the number of staff that will review spousal sponsorship applications by 66 per cent in order to reduce wait times and process applications more quickly.

In addition, IRCC is going to utilize new technology in a pilot to digitize paper applications. This is to allow IRCC employees working remotely and at various work settings to be able to quickly process applications.
