Congratulations gashe4peace;

It is very nice to get your 2nd AOR and soon you will receive your medicals.
By the way,we can easily notice from other forms also that pre June and post June applicants are being treated separately and giving priority comes from the ministerial instruction.And I believe the Canadian immigration office is giving much emphasis on the New Occupations which has high demand for Canada economy and job market.
If I were the one who applied Pre June and occupation still in the list I definitely re apply again.
and and new occupation list is coming after June.
Good luck

Ntaye,

Do you know of any other Nairobi VO applicants, pre and post June 2010 who have received their medical requests? The only thing that gives us hope is that the immigration applications are now capped so it's just a matter of time before the backlog gets tackled. If only waiting for such a lengthy period of time was not so torturous, you can't take any long term decisions!

Dear schmeichel;
No.I don't.I wished to get someone in the post June spreadsheet but I am the only Nairobi VO applicant who received a MR this time but I think someone out there must exist since some peoples do not like to join and share information.
And you are right,once the backlog is tackled every process will take less than a year as CIC promised.
even the processing time for the pre June applicants has reduced remarkably according to the statistics cic posted.
What ever it takes we all need patience and harmony until final decisions.
Wish all the best brother.

Hello buddy ?

Infact they give priority to post june applicants, they promised to give visas in a year time.
Giving visas within a year is very good news and I hope with time the pre-June applicants will reap the benefits as well... :)

I just don't get it as well. May be some Seniors here can help us understand this.

On another note, Nairobi Visa Office is responsible for immigrant applications from a number of countries within this region {i.e Burundi, Comoros, Congo (Brazzaville), Congo (Kinshasa), Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, French Southern Territories, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mayotte, Reunion, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, Tanzania, Uganda}and may be the cause of delay in processing time....just speculating I may be wrong on this. ::) ::)

The link I mention at the end of my post was originally posted by sunnyslietian, who clearly deserve a +1 from us all (I can't figure out how to do that!!), in the thread titled " Re: Pre 26 june(MI-1) Delay struggle, Lets get united ................. "

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/pre-26-junemi1-delay-struggle-lets-get-united-t73425.105.html

This link takes us to a House Of Commons Committee discussion about immigration, what is interesting is the comments made about Nairobi being a VO known for it's long processing times! Do check out the link below:

Unfortunately reapplying under the new NOC codes is not possible for me as I fell under the Financial Manager (1111) NOC category. No option other than to sit and wait it out, I pray that my medicals come through this year, the wait has been long enough though I imagine it must be much more frustrating for someone like amo who applied in 07!
Unfortunately re-applying is not an option for me either...fingers crossed that the new list of skills has my job! I am in IT

Hellow fellow guys at Nairobi visa office ?

Today, it is exactly 3 months since I received my PER and 5 months since my application is received by CIO. As a post June, 2010 applicant, I should have got in to 'in process' at this time. I don't think there are many post June applicants at our visa office except previous backlogs. Don't know what is going on at our visa office. Look at visa offices like Cairo, New Delhi, etc. They are so fast. Any how we shouldn't get lose hope and expect faster processing to all of as.

Go go go Nairobi.......

I agree with you totally, post June applicants in NVO must be very few. Ntaye is one of them and his process is surely done & dusted.

I therefore don't understand why the process is very slow in NVO. May be they lack adequate staff, may be not. Why the backlogs for that long?
Unfortunately my NOC isn't in the new list. I only have option...wait, wait , wait and wait ::) ::)

You will notice that in the House of Commons Committee session they noted that the geographical territories covered by a VO causes even further delay. The extract is below:

"Mr. Rénald Gilbert:
First of all, the wait times are not necessarily the result of best practices. As I indicated at the outset, because of the characteristics specific to the different offices, it sometimes happens that a best practice used in one centre cannot necessarily be applied in another. In certain regions — and this has been proven —, a good many clients have very similar backgrounds. The efficiency of the processing of these applications therefore varies from mission to mission. For example, in the Nairobi office, an officer may process applications from people originating from eight different countries in the course of one and the same day. It therefore varies."

But I really don't know if we can attribute this as being the sole reason Nairobi VO is so slow. I am certain that they don't have anywhere near the number of applicants that the Asian VOs or London have. Lord knows. All we can do is pray that we don't have too long left to wait, funny thing is that I wanted to get braces done, which I should have done last year but I was constantly thinking that "I have only 6 months left" :p Go figure!

Dear Nairobi visa office applicants,

Let's join hand in hand and pray together !

Let our visa office in Nairobi is awakened to speed up our application to get our permanent residence card.

Shall we say 'Amen' !
