Hi guys i need your help with my Outland family sponsor( wife) , i sent my application jun 2014 and got a latter on jan 7/2015 saying '' the application for permanent Residence for permanent residence for ur relative's has been forwarded '' to Nairobi/ kenya for further processing '' and i haven't submitted upfront medical report and didn't pay RPRF, can any body let me know how long will it take to get this business done and how is it going so far ? and my status is saying just Application received ( kenya/ Nairobi ) thanks

Hi all,

Quick question: On the Kenya Outland form, it mentions something about getting a DNA blood test. Can someone explain what this means? I have only gotten the regular medical exam done that is required by CIC. Is this enough? Thanks!

DO YOU HAVE KIDS? maybe they require if u do , but if just u the medical exam u have submitted to CIC is enough . but keep in your mind kenyan office will ask u war ever they want. good luck

No, I do not have kids. So just the usual medical exam required by CIC is enough?

Hey Falmaata.

I would say wait for a few more weeks and it'll change to in process. I've a guys who's file was transferred in Dec that changed to in process end of february. Hope you see a change soon.
When did you apply Falmaata? When was your file transferred to Nairobi?
Good luck.
Thanks

Could anyone give me some advice here I just realized that your police check needs to be done no more then 3 months before applying and we got ours done when we did our medical exam but had problems with the Dr and then ended up having to wait for another 5 months before getting a good exam done I wanted to send everything in together so I waited and now have sent it in already and it was more then the 3 months do you think this will be a problem?

Hi Meena88,

It might be a problem, but the best thing to do is to wait and see whether they will ask you to do another police check. If they need another police check they will send you an email/letter to ask you for a new police check.

All the best with your application :)

Hello guys I'm new to this forum and I need help with few questions with family sponsor. I'm a Canadian born citizen thats living in Toronto,ON and married my husband June 2014 in South Africa Johnnessburg. I filled his sponsor papers to CIC on November 2014 and got my first approval as a sponsor Feburary 2015. My problem is I was told that we can choose our own visa but instead I totally missed that part and left it blank and assuming that they will make our visa office near where my husband lives which South Africa vo is Pretoria but that wasn't the case they told us our vo is in Nairobi. So i honestly don't know how that happened and my husband is also a refugee claimant in South Africa so I wanted to know since his visa office is in Nairobi when they start looking at his file are they going to ask him to come to kenya for interview knowing he has no passport and no way to travel there ? Are they going to transfer his file to Pretoria since is closer ?? Can anyone help me on answering the question if you have similar experience or know someone that this happened to and have knowledge on what these people would do in cases like that I would greatly appreciate it thankssss

Hey Daizzy! So sorry to hear that. I believe you've come to the right place. Someone will give you guidance soon according to their experience.
The little that I know is not everyone gets called for an interview. However, everyone has to send a passport so that a permanent residency visa can be stamped on their passport regardless of the visa office.. what is your spouse going to travel to Canada once everything is approved? In the meantime, call CIC here in Canada and ask the procedures of you requesting for a change of visa office.

Hope this helps a bit. Hang on and someone should give you a concrete answer.

Good luck.

Makes sense and will definitely will do that and thanks you really appreciate it

I think you have to create a new thread so that the seniors Can see it and answer it. Meanwhile you can cross check if your husband is from the country under the Nairobi VO or the Pretoria VO. It wud be a good starting point .
