I think you have to create a new thread so that the seniors Can see it and answer it. Meanwhile you can cross check if your husband is from the country under the Nairobi VO or the Pretoria VO. It wud be a good starting point .
Thanks I just figured out that before they use to choose visa office according to where you are a residence at and now it's accordding to where your a citizen at makes sense now I just need to figure out in that case what do they do with a person that doesn't have a passport and is a reffugee claimant is he suppose to make one because When we filled out the forms we said he doesn't have one assuming they will issue a tempory one to travel with when his stuff gets approved so if you can give me an advice or anyone that reading this I would appreciate it thanks

Hello,

Your husband could have been transferred to Nairobi as his visa office because it may not be processing as many applications as the Pretoria visa office. This assumption is mainly based on reading the stories of other applicants in these forums. There was one who was a refugee claimant who was issued a temporary travel document, when the decision was made on his application.

Try to open your own thread, and perhaps other members will be able to chime in and help you out.

Hello guys I'm new to this forum and I need help with few questions with family sponsor. I'm a Canadian born citizen thats living in Toronto,ON and married my husband June 2014 in South Africa Johnnessburg. I filled his sponsor papers to CIC on November 2014 and got my first approval as a sponsor Feburary 2015. My problem is I was told that we can choose our own visa but instead I totally missed that part and left it blank and assuming that they will make our visa office near where my husband lives which South Africa vo is Pretoria but that wasn't the case they told us our vo is in Nairobi. So i honestly don't know how that happened and my husband is also a refugee claimant in South Africa so I wanted to know since his visa office is in Nairobi when they start looking at his file are they going to ask him to come to kenya for interview knowing he has no passport and no way to travel there ? Are they going to transfer his file to Pretoria since is closer ?? Can anyone help me on answering the question if you have similar experience or know someone that this happened to and have knowledge on what these people would do in cases like that I would greatly appreciate it thankssss

How long did it take for u guys to receive AOR2 once ur file was transferred to Nairobi?
Did u get the AOR2 as an email or letter in mail?
Did the sponsor or applicant get the AOR2?

Nairobi doesn't usually issue AOR2.

Some applicants see a change on the ECas to "in process" after a couple of months or even "decision made".
When did you submit your application?

Hi all,

I'm filling out my application and came along a question which says I have to provide travel details of the applicant (myself) AND each of my family members for the past 10 years. I already compiled my list but do I have to do it for EACH of my family members?

Along the same lines, it also says to obtain police certificates for each of my family members since the age of 18. Sure this cannot be true. I think I'm missing something. Can anyone help?

Thank you!

Hello,

The travel history is that of the applicant and any other dependants. I am assuming you are the only one being sponsored. If so, you only need to provide your travel history. The same goes for your police certificate - you only need to submit your police certificate.

Hey guys I wanted to ask you guys for help if you guys have similar situation or have some knowledge from previous post but I got an email from Nairobi vo saying Since my spouse doesn't have a passport and cannot obtain a travel document recognized by Canada and they will issue a visa on a Canadian Single Journey Travel document. I will first need to contact the International Organization for Migration (IOM), who will arrange and facilitate your travel. IOM has competitive flight rates. IOM also facilitates departure, exit permits and transits at airports and need to pay IOM directly for the travel arrangements.
Also his medicals will expire on August 25, 2015 and needs to arrive in Canada before
this date.
They state to confirm in writing, within 30 days of this letter, that you agree to this.

So guys what do you think this mean?? Am I on the right track please advice guys thanks

Send them a letter confirming that you understand and agree with this procedure for your husband's PR application.
This sounds just like a case I read earlier. I will look for it and post it shortly.
