Hi Awmf2014,
First of all congratulations. I have a bit of good news myself. My application status changed to in process today. It says that they started processing on march 4th.
I submitted the medicals up front too but there is no where it says that they received the medicals. Should i be worried?
Also, if you don't mind, are you the sponsor or you are being sponsored.
Thanks.

Thanks Feysaluu. All the bestto you all of us.

Amwff and Faeysaluu, am curious. Since you guys submitted you applications on almost the same day, how long was the did it take for your files to be transferred to Nairobi? I can see Awmf's was transfarred on Dec 11th 2014. When was your transferred Feysaluu?
I also have another question. WHEN DOES ONE START START GETTING ECOS AND BE ABLE TO TRACK HIS/HER APPLICATION ONLINE? Is it after ile has been transferred to Nairobi of even before?

Thanks

Hi Alwy Alsagggaf,

As soon as you get an Application number or UCI number, you can check your application status online (ECAS)

You can receive Application number from AOR and UCI from SA letter/email.

Hello,

Thanks for the prompt reply Awmf.
Noted!! I'll wait for their letter then. When you say UCI number, is this the same as the one they normally put n PR cards? Is it the same of tis UCI for sponsorship is different from the one on PR cards?

Thanks again.

UCI is your immigration number. So if you have had previous applications in Canada, like a study permit or work permit, your UCI stays the same. I am not sure if they also put this number on PR cards. I would say no, because you would change from being a temporary resident (as student or worker) to a permanent resident.

Also note, your sponsor also gets a UCI, and they can use this to check whether they have been approved as a sponsor online.

Thanks for the help Awmf2014. I seen it said it has been transfered but some people have exact dates so I was coinfused.

Hi meena88,

When you get an SA approval, it will state that the file has been transferred to your visa office. The Nairobi Visa office does not normally issue Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR), so you just have to trust that your file has been received and be patient. All the best to you!

Hi Alwy,
My application was transferred on december 16th, 2014. It is around this time that I was able to access ECAS as well.
All the best to you.

Thanks Awmf2014. I guess the UCI is hers then. I am the sponsor and not person being sponsored. She'll also have her UCI number once they start processing her file. Awmf, s there a way that I can use ECAS (with my UCI number) to track the application? Any ideas?

Thanks for the help.

Question for you again, sorry. Are you sponsoring or being sponsored? Id you are being sponsored, did you use your sponsor's UCI number to get acces to ECAS or they provided you with one for yourself? If you are sponsoring, are you using your UCI for ECAS or your using person being sponsored's UCI for ECAS.

Thanks again.

Alwy

I am the sponsor and I use my UCI.
You can also use the application number once your file is transferred.
I hope that helps.

If not then please send me the link here and i'll have it on my toolbar ready to be used once i get their mail!!

Thanks Acecube!! Much appreciated. The page looks familiar.

I've used this online thing for something else. Didn't go well though, not sure what is it that I was doing wrong. I'll try using again but like I said didn't have a good experience .

Thanks anyways.

You done with the process? Is Pretoria faster than Nairobi?

Did you receive AOR or SA? I guess it's start working after a week from receiving SA. Try to use the sponsor's UCI and details.

I'm from Mauritius which was previously under Nairobi but changed to Pretoria this year. From the processing times listed on the CIC website, Pretoria is way better but comparing the real data on this forum, i have seen that Nairobi is processing more faster. However, Pretoria has less applicant than Nairobi.

I share pretty much the same timeline with Feyasulu and Awmf2014 and they started processing our application during the same week. Let's see who gets to the line first.

Best of luck to all my fellow African applicants.
