Some good news to share!!! My application has changed to "in Process".
They started processing application Feb 26th, 2015.

I am so excited! I just thought i'd share the good news with you all.

Does anybody know from their experience how much longer until a decision made? My medical and fees were submitted upfront.

First I congratulate you upon that step Awmf2014. So far the two cases I have followed, one took 2 weeks from it went into process to when the decision was made and the other took almost 9 weeks. So I guess it keeps on varying depending on certain elements at the embassy.
Now you may get a request for passport soon which is a signal for even better news. Keep hoping for the best.
Good Luck 8)

Congrats Awmf-very excited that Nairobi group is moving forward.
-was that the Nairobi(sponsored spouse) application? If yes, which log in details did you use?

Also, quick question everyone who is finally done with Nairobi in the last few months- should we be looking out for emails or for actual in the post office mail?

Happy March everyone-the time comes closer each day!!

Thanks guys

Hello.

If there are any documents which have not been submitted to the visa office (which they require), they will email you. if medical is done upfront, and the process will take more than a year (medical expires every year), they will ask you do it again and send it to them. passport request will NOT be sent via e-mail. keep on checking you POBox. a CC will be sent to the person sponsoring.

Good luck guys :)

Hello Aall!!

Congratulations Awmf2014. Good luck, you are almost there.
Guys, I have two questions today. First one might look dumb but better ask now than be afraid of people think that I am one ( Am not for sure!!! :P )
What does AOR stand for? I know people!! What does it really mean?
2nd question goes to you Awmf. In your timeline breakdown, it shows you were requested for documents. Do you mind sharing what these documents were? Just want to know if I didn't send one as well so that I can get it ready.

Thank you all. STAY WARM 8) 8)

Hi @Alywy

I made a mistake. That was the date I did my medicals. I have changed my profile. Cic have not requested any additional documents.

Forgot to to add,

AOR - Acknowledgement of Receipt
This can be received from the Mississauga office (AOR1) and the Visa Office (AOR2). Some people receive AOR from Mississauga (I did), but not many people get AOR from Nairobi Visa Office.

Hi Awmf2014 and all.

Thank you for the information.Still waiting for my AOR :'( Long way to go.

Good luck to everyone out there.

Hi Awmf2014,
First of all congratulations. I have a bit of good news myself. My application status changed to in process today. It says that they started processing on march 4th.
I submitted the medicals up front too but there is no where it says that they received the medicals. Should i be worried?
Also, if you don't mind, are you the sponsor or you are being sponsored.
Thanks.

That's great news for you Feysaluu. Congratulations!!

When did you apply? With the medical, i saw somewhere a guys saying you can always email them and ask them about it and that you did your medical already but you can't see it in your ecas.

Al the best to all.

Hey guys how do you know that your file has actually been transfered ? Does it update on ecas?

Hi Alwy,
Thanks. I applied on October 9th, 2014. Yeah, I will email them and ask them.

Hi meena88,

When you get an SA approval, it will state that the file has been transferred to your visa office. The Nairobi Visa office does not normally issue Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR), so you just have to trust that your file has been received and be patient. All the best to you!

Hi feysaluu,

If you submitted medicals, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. It may not appear online. Mine appeared online when I received SA- Sponsorship approval. Sometimes it appears as received when they officially start processing your file (when your Ecas changes to "in process"). Another determining factor of your Ecas is the immigration officer who works on your file. Some update it frequently, others don't hear anything, and then all of a sudden, they have a "decision made" or a passport request. If there is a problem you will be contacted to submit another medical. You shouldn't worry about it though.

All the best with you application!
