I recently changed my job (in Aug'16) and have an experience letter of 2.9 yrs from my previous employer which was issued in Aug'16 itself. Do I still need to get a similar experience letter from my current employer for the remaining 3 months which qualifies me for maximum experience points? I am doubtful if my current employer will provide such a reference letter in the said format. What are the alternatives as in my case, its just a question of 3 months of experience.

Request people with similar experience to help me with this challenge.
Read through pages 1,2 and 3 of this same thread, you will find your answer.

Hello everybody,

Is it OK to have the same template letter for different companies and change only the information regarding that company, for example duties, title and salary? Basically the letter structure and introduction is the same.

No, not advisable. It will look more like you drafted and gave it to the companies to issue you the letter rather than the company issuing the same. Use Google to have variations in the letter even though the NOC is the same. Also do not copy the NOC duties and responsibilities as it is.

I agree with you, Stanlee however surely CIC knows that almost all letters are written for them? I mean, I have old reference letters but the feature "kryt0n was great at xxx role" not "she earned xxx, during dates xxx, her duties were xxx", and then EVERY detail about the company.

They must know they were all made to order ;)

They do but if you make it even more obvious to them (like copy pasting roles from the NOC website), the VO might have a problem with it. Better safe than sorry, any day, I guess.

I found below sample letters on website. May i know what is the meaning of notarized?is it only signature of authorized person or govt stamp or govt stmap paper?

No Letters at All
-------------------

There will be instances when you will not be getting any success in obtaining Job Reference Letter. Some of the reasons may be:

Company is closed down
Supervisor/s you worked with are now with another employer
HR Policies
Your employer gives only experience letter and etc..
In such cases you can submit below Sample affidavit as an alternative to the work reference/job description letter:

Sample notarization Date:

SOLEMN AFFIRMATION

I the undersigned, (principal applicant), residing at ___________________________________, hereby solemnly affirm that from (date) until (date) I was employed by (company name) as (job title). I worked (number) hours per week and was paid (salary) (weekly, monthly, yearly).

My main duties consisted of (main duties).

Main Duty 1
Main Duty 2
Main Duty 3
Main Duty 4
and so on and so forth.
I am unable to obtain a letter with the job description from my employer because the HR department doesn’t provide any such letter with the job duties mentioned on it. The only thing they provide with is an experience letter with the designation and the tenure of the employment mentioned on it, that too at the time of relieving.
I have that letter and I shall enclose the notarized copy of the same.

What is the website that you are referring to?

Notarization - A Notary Public’s seal on a document indicates that it has been notarized. The notary is a commissioned representative of a government and is charged with verifying the identity of a signer, ensuring they sign under their own free will, and witnessing the signing event. Their role is to prevent fraud and to ensure the appropriate people execute documents.

Personally, I will not take any chances with the duties and responsibilities.

Oh no, I'll get a proper letter, it just seems odd that CIC must know that their requirements aren't a worldwide standard.

Logically valid argument, but when we are applying to CIC, we are the ones who need to adhere to their requirements.

Hi seniors, if my husband's jobs don't claim any points for me(principal applicant) . Can I choose not to submit any reference letters for him? Am I running any risk for doing that? I am a little bit scared about being rejected just because of this, but it's not easy to get refereces for 4 jobs in the past 12 years. Please suggest. Im sorry if this question has been asked. Thank you in advance for your help.

My reference letters were written in a plain Word doc -> printed -> signed -> scanned -> emailed. The letters have all the required content viz dates, role, responsibilities, duration, signature, etc.
But they are not on the company letter head, nor stamped/sealed as my supervisors dont work in the company any more, neither do I.
So, should I copy/paste the content on a company letter head or get it notarized as mentioned in some previous posts?

Ideally it should be on the company letterhead
