What is the website that you are referring to?

Notarization - A Notary Public’s seal on a document indicates that it has been notarized. The notary is a commissioned representative of a government and is charged with verifying the identity of a signer, ensuring they sign under their own free will, and witnessing the signing event. Their role is to prevent fraud and to ensure the appropriate people execute documents.
What i have done is take plain the paper, put all the details and get sign from the manager and mine also through email because the company is closed

"Reference Letter - For previous employers, the letter obtained after you have left is good enough, unless and until you want to get a fresh letter or want to get the letter updated. "

I've a question regarding previous employers' reference letters. They're just experience letters that state designation and start date and end date. I read the above line in the master thread for steps after ITA. So I'm confused as to whether the experience letters with basic info can be treated as reference letters or do we need to go back to the HR folks to get the reference letters?

Question 2: Also, in case the reference letters are needed and the HRs from previous companies refuse, then how do we circumvent that? If we have an old friend/well wisher, can we get it signed and notarized from him/her?

Hi guys,

My current company refused to issue me reference letter in canadian specific format.

On the other hand, my manager has agreed to issue me reference letter in CIC prescribed format on plain paper.

Can you guys guide me what else do i need with this letter ?

I already have salary slips, job offer/contract letter, salary increment letter ?

Make sure it properly describes your duties and responsibilities and that it matches your NOC. This is extremely important.

Other than that since it has no company letterhead IMO you might need an affidavit from your manager.

Cheers ;)

I am attaching visiting card of my manager with my letter and also going to explain this in LOE attached in the LOE upload section.

Do you think that Notarization of the original document will be OK in LIEU of an affidavit ?

If only affidavit can work in this situation, can you please provide a sample or direct me to the link where such sample is given so that i can get my letter prepared in that way.

Thanks

You can get a letter from your manager and get it notarized. You would not need an affidavit for this, IMO.

Yes, that sounds original to me. Do you have to e-mail the letters or do you have to send the hard copy through snail-mail?

If experience letter has all the information as per CIC requirements, then you are good to go, otherwise, you will have to get a reference letter from your previous employer.

For answer to Question 2, read through the initial posts on this thread, it has already been answered there http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/nail-the-challenge-of-getting-reference-letter-from-current-employer-t397796.0.html

Actually I have to send hard copy of 'original' reference letter from employer to NBPNP

For ITA you only need soft copy of the letter.

For previous employers, the letter obtained after you have left is good enough, unless and until you want to get a fresh letter or want to get the letter updated. For current employer as a rule of the thumb, get a fresh letter if the previous one which you got is older than 6 months.
