o okay, so a bit longer than Mexico city, our VO usually takes 1-2 weeks to return it,
except for ours of course, cuz were over the 2 week mark now. *sigh*

hopefully we both get them back soon!!
congrats by the way!! :)
Thanks.

Her GCMS notes say passed but Ecas hasn't updated her medical results. At this point I'm expecting her to get her passport back long before anything gets updated. Ecas is useless.

'You know, just because you married a canadian, doesn't make you automatically a canadian ' (I never said it did)
' if you get married in the states he (my canadian husband ) will border bound for five years (in the states )'
' After you get married you can only stay 3 months and then they deport you'
' you must have pr status before you can get married in canada '.
And it's because somebody said a friend told them this or someone said this happened to one of the friend's friends. ANNOYING!!!

While waiting for DM, I got sick and tired of people telling me "You should have used a lawyer/consultant to speed up the process."

Ya. This is a good one. I met a US/Canadian couple tonight that went through an expensive lawyer thinking that it will speed things up.

Yeah, tell that to lalune. Her lawyer advised her not to pay the RPRF upfront and wait for CIC to request it, which we know delays the application by 2-3 months. Even when confronted with CIC's website, her lawyer still insists her advice was not bad!

I didn't pay it up front. The info was contradictory. First it tells you to wait then tells you they advise you to pay it? Why not just say pay it all up front? The remed is what has jammed us.

It's in the Guide 3900

Note. We strongly recommend paying the Right of Permanent Residence Fee along with your processing fees. By doing so, it will reduce the processing time of your application.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/3900ETOC.asp#3900E2

Under Step 3: Pay the Fees, #2. The wording is confusing though. You'll see what I mean if you read it.

Yes I read that. Since I had zero experience with CIC prior to this it seemed strange that they would first say to wait to be notified to pay the RPRF and then directly afterward suggest that you pay it up front. Under the fees schedule on the old "Liberal red" CIC website the RPRF fees are not listed. I found this confusing. So I opted to not pay it up front.
Luckily for us they requested payment at the same time they request my wife's remed so they received notification of the payment long before they received confirmation of the remed.

Oh, almost forgot - it's actually not a myth but who knows that others might think the same

Middle aged Pakistani lady who migrated to Canada with husband/hers kid and it's her first ever foreign visit, when she came here she was surprised to see other Pakistanis and Indians. She thought, they are the only ones who will be here and didn't know that others can also apply
After few months and getting used to subway etc, she met an Indian acquaintance from the US and they were both travelling by TTC ( Toronto Subway ), where she told her friend and that she doesn't have to do anything, the train doors will open automatically
