My Naija people,

Great to discover this thread. I use to be an old member of the forum but lost contact since i landede in Canada. It is surprising to hear some people have not got their visa since 2001. Anyway I applied in Jan 2001 and have landed here since April 2005 in fact it should have been a year earlier if not that i had an additional child late in 2004. So it is not cast in stone that it must be 61mths I have even seen a bros here who took less than 2 year from the same Accra and we did not even use a lawyer. So my people there is hope just add plenty fasting and prayer to your waiting. Canada na better place o!

God bless

Daniele

Hey all,

good to see this thread. I be naija oh, but my application is not through Ghana,
'cause i currently reside outside the country.

Danielle!

Consider yrself lucky, i know of someone who has filed his application since 2001 but was just asked to do medicals in march/april. A number of applications re actually delayed in accra i wander why?

Anyway, I think it'll worth the wait on the long run.

All the best to every1.

Canada is beautiful.
Waiting patiently.......Turn by turn,.....
Hi Mile 2,

Good to know that Canada is beautiful. Is Ontario-(Toronto) your point of entry?
By the way, whatz TRV(don't mind my ignorance).
But, it's interesting you got a visa to visit. People say once yr PR application is in;the best you can get is a Student's Visa.
Please shed more light on this

Oloye and all of u waiting patiently happy new year!

I applied in 2005 i know my application will not be concluded for another two years cos of the back log.Its all good. However it appears the Canadian Govt is trying to decongest the process by writing letters to applicants who want to withdraw from the process.I received this letter some weeks ago which partly reads:

This letter is in reference to your application for permanent residence in Canada, received on -2005. Citizenship and Immigration Canada requests that you confirm whether or not you are still interested in immigrating to Canada.

If you are no longer interested in immigrating to Canada and you wish to withdraw your application, please complete the enclosed refund request form and return it to the Canadian High Commission in Accra, Ghana within 120 days and we will return your full application fee.

If we do not hear from you within this timeframe, we will assume your continued interest in immigrating to Canada, and your application and fees will be retained for future processing. No further offers to return your fee will be sent. When we are ready to actively begin processing your application we will contact you to request your updated information, however at this point you will not be eligible for a refund of your processing fee.

Thank you for your interest in Canada. If you are no longer interested in immigrating to Canada and would like a full refund of your application fee, please notify us within the next 120 days.

Regards,

Immigration Section

Having travelled down this road i am prepared to wait it out. When i eventually get the process done i will now ask myself if i really want to relocate permanetly. This willl however help the few who want to discontinue the process.

Cheers everybody.

Hey my people, i just register to this forum in order to get some informationas per CIC. I submitted my application last year March got my file number november same year. However the whole dream turn sour when i received a mail letter last week stating that my application was not approve because my job category was not listed in the new 38 list approved by the minister. from the list my skill category falls into computer and information technology manager but what i thought could be the problem was the NOC code i used which was not representing the computer and information technology manager code. Their was also a form for me to request for the refund of my application processing fees.

My questions is as follows:

1. Can i re-apply while my processing fees is still with them
2. Do i need to get get my refund first, then reapply
3. Is their any waiting time before reapplying

Anybody with candid information and opinion will be highly appreciated. It was during my search of a reputable immigration layer that i can to know about www.canadavisa.com and their various services and considering using them this time around for the application.

Odema!!!

My husband has an interview scheduled for May in Ghana. Is this the last thing?? How long do you think it will be until he can come after he is interviewed?? I am in Canada now, pregnant with our first child and really anxious to have him here with me. Any advise would be helpful for both of us!!!

Hi
If your hubby has done his medical and has no issue and equally paid the landing fee,he should have the visa same day but not later than 15days after a successful interview.
