I have been away to USA, just came back, men!!! there are reasons for one to leave this country, while up there I was told there has been no NEPA?PHCN since I left, and I was like so, I should remove my trouser, not realising that I will return someday, and alas I came back to enjoy the No Power situation.

God knows there will never be police checking point(s) in either Canada/USA.

Let talk

Hi Lakuku00

I am sneaking into your Naija community. Though I am Indian (in USA), still I would like to advise you about hiring a lawyer.

It's good to have one. For sure you can fill all the forms and do other formalities but God forbid, if there is some blunder or something out of your control, then having a good lawyer keeps you safe from complications/refusal. I retained David Cohen as my attorney for PR processing. I am almost done except waiting for Passport Request for the Visa.

In fact David Cohen has the staff that keeps on changing but still there are couple of good professionals who guide the rookies in complicated matters.

David Cohen is very senior attorney firm and they are well-known in the CIC. I had heard that their applicants are not much bothered by Canadian Consulates.

Your options are open and you are at best to choose what to think is right for you.

Regards

Shabab

Soj,

Congrats in advance! I want to congratulate you because I'm sure you'll get the visa. I just want to find out info as regards your timeline. Since 2001 when you applied, were you ever told to update your documents and if so when? I actually started my process in 2002 but was recently told to update my documents in Oct 2006, which I have already done. Unfortunately the waiting game has been on since then again.
Hoping to hear from you soon

Hi everyone
I am new to this forum and its quite good and refreshing to know that there are a lot of Nigerians to share immigration experience with. I applied in Nov 2001; Submitted my medicals in Oct 2006. In January accra confirmed they had received our medicals, and a week after this my lawyer got a letter from accra that they are perusing my application for a final determination of my application.
Pls can anyone shed more light on this for me?
Sincere regards

My people i hail.
While we wait for Canada ,we still have to try and put the right people into office in Naija during these critical elections.

I reside in Lagos a Mega city that has been neglected by successive Federal and State Governments.

I pitch my tenant with FASHOLA the new face of lagos for massive infrastructural development.

EKO O NI BAJE!

Mile2,

Let's leave politics to the naija politicians and concentrate and focus on how we'll reach Canada soonest which is what this forum is all about.
If we start playing partisan politics in the forum we begin to loose focus since we all share different political beliefs.
I would rather focus about reaching Canada fast than get bogged down by Naija politics nor her leaders afterall if all is well at home why wait 4 or 5 years to get to a 'Canan land?
Your guess is as good as mine.

I will vote if you tell me the right people to vote for in Ibadan where I live.

As yemkik said, let's leave politics and focus on the issue at hand!

Many CONGRATULATIONS Banky. I sincerely wish you the very best of luck in all you do when you get to Canada. It shall be well in the end. I also applied in November 2001 and did my medicals in November 2006; hopefully, i should be expecting my PPR soon by God's grace.
Once again, all the very best for the future. I also pray for everyone still waiting that it shall be well with your cases and soon a faster processing time will be implemented by CIC Canada.
Cheers
