My husband was denied a study Visa to US,will this affect the spousal sponsorship to Canada?

Hi there, hopefully someone will be able to help me with this question. My husband was denied a student Visa to USA 2 years ago ,since then we've got married and now planning to start and outland sponsorship application.
My question is, once we put down that yes he was denied Visa to a country before would that complicate our application ? Will that raise questions ?

Thanks you, we'll explain it. He wanted to do a master program over there but was denied the student Visa. We were already together but not married yet then,now we are married and iam sponsoring him to Canada.....it shouldn't raise any doubts
