Here's my timeline:
January 5,2014 - submit online application
January 28, 2014- received file number
July 2015 - sponsor was interviewed
August 2015 - received LOA from Manitoba
October 2015 - sent paper application to CIC

How long does it usually take for them to review the papers and send us the request for medical? Hope that they will approve our application.

It is a frustrating thing to be waiting when you know every document checks out ok. I have my file transferred from Sydney to NDVO in May 2014, waiting for medical as of yet. I want to say one thing. Patience is they key, calling CIC like 50 time is going to make matters worse.
Just take a deep breath and enjoy the ride.

Usually it takes around 6 months for medical request. They take about first 3 months for acknowledgement and another 3 months for asking medical done.. there is chance of +- 1 month also.

First of all congratulation to you for this updation ..here i am worrying about my application, because I am also July 2014 applicant and my status is ASSESSMENT PENDING since april ,and thereafter no progress in application seen.....
Kindly share your points and do you have family supporter or friend..?

Hi param7791, id NDVO New Delhi Visa Office? I have seen that there are a lot of different timelines for different VO's. Most peoeple get MR +-6months, it just depends on the office and how busy they are...

My supporter is a distant relative ( General Stream) My status changed to Pending last March 22 and until now it is still pending. Still praying for HIS perfect time.

Yes it's New Delhi visa office, they sure are busy but 17 months is a bit too much of a wait. Anyways just kept my fingers crossed.

Anyways, my sponsor is my father and self assessment points is around 65-70. Can't remember it really.

Dear Govender,

Speaking frankly, I don't believe that the quotas for nurses and teachers have been done as no credible evidence to believe. We all know immigration Manitoba having some issues to process the pending applications. Remember they were allocated 5500 positions ( 5000+500) by the federal govt to fill during this year and Manitoba PNP only reopened in April, so from April to till date I guess only 20-30% nomination can be distributed by looking at the current slow trends.

One thing is sure that they are way behind the schedule due to lacking in strategic planning to process the applications. Of course its a long wait, hard to cope... but nothing can be done at this stage. From my point of view, it would be better option if they introduce fees for the nomination applications that would support MPNP financially to run the program more smoothly and efficiently.

You know you could be on to something there with the suggestion to charge a fee.

When I went for the seminar in Sep 2013 I had a view of their huge office with cabinets and rows and rows of files. I only saw about three people in that office, one receptionist and one female officer who came and conducted the seminar in a 12 seater boardroom.

Maybe introducing the fee would allow them to employ more staff to cope with all this backlog.

To see threads where applicants have sent paper app's in since 2012 and have not yet been had a decision is scary and extremely heart breaking for those applicants as well as their families. I would go as far as to say it is traumatising to have to live your life in limbo like that

anyways...............that's my 2cents

I still believe that I will receive my LOA this month and all we can do is pray, believe, keep hope alive and support each other on this forum.

Hi joy, you mailbox is full and I cant send you a Personal Message.

The documentation differ from applicant to applicant. It depends on how many dependents you have and if you applied for Quebec Nominee Program, if you are Economic Stream etc.

Just follow the guideline, you should be fine.

Your stream will be stated on the LOA, just make sure when you receive it - you should be "overseas skilled worker" if you applied through the "family stream" and you are not based in Canada.

Don't hesitate to ask if you need anything else buddy

1) The questions in each interview is not 100% the same but here are most of the questions they will ask:

How do you know the applicant
When last did you meet in person
When last did you talk to each other
Do you know the applicant dependents
How old is the dependents
What work is the applicant currently doing
What will the applicant and their dependents do once they live here (work school etc)
How will you assist them in the first couple of months after their arrival

2) The time varies on LOA from case to case. My believe is that not all of the applications gets assessed on the same basis. Some of the officers might first check all of the documentation, verify everything and only after this change the status to "in process" and give the supporter the call. Other might first change the status to "in process", give the supporter a call and after this start with the documentation etc. I think it is fair to say that it takes 10-40 days to get LOA after sponsor interview.

Star preparing you CIC application as soon as possible as this will ensure that you can submit it once you receive your LOA, and not 1-2 weeks after you receive LOA like I did
