Hello! My boyfriend and I need some advice. I am a United States citizen and am currently living and working in the United States. My boyfriend is a Colombian citizen and is currently living and working in Colombia. Our hope for the future is to both be living and working in Canada, married and raising children. We understand it is a difficult situation, because neither of us is a Canadian resident. We would like to start by getting my boyfriend a visitor VISA so that he can visit Canada and ideally look for a job while he is visiting. Then, we would hope to have a company offer him a job so that he can apply for a work visa. Does anyone have experience with a situation like this? How likely is it that he will be granted the visitor VISA if he has no family/friends in Canada? Any information would be helpful. Thank you!

He will need to be able to show very strong ties to Colombia to be approved for a TRV.
A job offer is not enough to apply for a work permit. He needs a job offer from en employer with a positive LMIA. This is extremely difficult to find, as it costs employers $1000 just to apply and they need to meet strict requirements to be approved.
